Well ... Indeed need to rethink the system ... I'll need to find some sata drives on the cheap somewhere, will be a challenge. I used the Raid 1 because I was too lazy to change it :D If I configure it as a RAID 0 it should work no? Then make ZFS out of it. Or ... Just use some Sata...

Off the top of my head: 2 x X8SI6-F with x3470 + extra 4nics and 32gb each for vSphere with local raid 1 disks 1 x X8SI6-F with x3440 + extra 1nic and 24gb storage server with (for the moment) 6 2TB disks

These little servers are capable of so much more ... People use them to make storage systems out of them (NAS/SAN) ... Seems a bit of a waste to use them as a pfsense box.
