Maybe we could start a thread collecting all the best practices using SSD's in all variants of operating systems?

I was looking for information regarding best practices using SSD's for the rpool (root pool or whatever you want to call it). There is a lot of loose information here and there, some good some not so good.

Does anybody have any good links regarding this?
Maybe we can collect them.

If a thread like this already exists, excuse my (non-existing) search fu ... ;)
