I guess if you look at it from the perspective that it's an advanced ebook reader it makes sense. A Kindle for $300 or a kindle sized ipod touch for $500.... but even then I guess the ebook fans like them because they're black an white...

Yes. The main reason I'm sending them back is aesthetics. They are much larger than I need them to be and they look cheap. The fact that they are difficult to move around is just another reason I don't like them.

Yeah, that's one of Sony's best techniques. Develop a proprietary media and rip people off with it. I don't like the idea of buying a movie for $30.
