    there is no way a new gpu is a waste of money frames won't be as good a with a new cpu but the p4 should consistently get about 50 or 60 on most non cpu intensive game which while a far cry short of what they could be, still playable plus you can always upgrade stuff later

    well if you play rts's it becomes all about the cpu baby!! while you might not be able to play at the graphic settings, you'll at least be able to play 5 minutes with supreme commander is my reference ;)

    temperature is well within reasonable limit, at least at the location of the sensor. probably gets hotter deeper within the core. either way I guess the processor just isn't meant to run at speeds that high, but I'm somewhat curious where and how the process breaks down. any incite would be...

    klipsch amp doesn't have a dac either (at least the 5.1 bash doesn't) decent piece of hardware though running some larger infinitys for the stereo portion
