I don't argue that it won't significantly hold back his card but I still think a lot new games will be playable

there is no way a new gpu is a waste of money frames won't be as good a with a new cpu but the p4 should consistently get about 50 or 60 on most non cpu intensive game which while a far cry short of what they could be, still playable plus you can always upgrade stuff later

honestly though I have a p4 and I'm thinking about getting a 4850 way more then a new cpu although that might be because nahelem isn't out yet

well if you play rts's it becomes all about the cpu baby!! while you might not be able to play at the graphic settings, you'll at least be able to play 5 minutes with supreme commander is my reference ;)

temperature is well within reasonable limit, at least at the location of the sensor. probably gets hotter deeper within the core. either way I guess the processor just isn't meant to run at speeds that high, but I'm somewhat curious where and how the process breaks down. any incite would be...

in my experience ati is better with multimon setups

klipsch amp doesn't have a dac either (at least the 5.1 bash doesn't) decent piece of hardware though running some larger infinitys for the stereo portion

try playing with AA on and a higher resolution

you're probably set for movies and internet audio other than that I guess it depends on if you want to hook up your speakers via analog or digital I see a lot of people recommend the prelude, but I'd try to go with an analog setup and get the m audio audiophile.

I take it by design you mean aesthetically. Changing the box of the speaker to something you find more desirable would probably effect the sound negatively. There really isn't much mainstream competition in the higher end pc audio market.

Don't know why you're asking us. Some people like listening to albums, others just songs. If you can deal with not having the whole cd then maybe you should "clean". start with some of the bands you don't like as much?

I'd go with raid 0 or no raid. Either would be a decent performance boost from what you have now. raid 0 for a little more speed no raid if you want to back files up on the other hdd.
