If you want the most CRT-like experience get the NEC 20WMGX2. If you want a 1600x1200 LCD I'd probably get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824005064.
It could be a panel lottery like the 2007FP then, or people in the UK could be getting the P-MVA's and people in the US getting the S-IPS or vice-versa.

I just remembered that all widescreen monitors are 16:10, you're right.
The F-20 is not an S-IPS panel, its listed on tftcentral.com as one but thats incorrect. Several people at widescreengamingforum.com have called Acer to confirm if it was an S-IPS panel and found out its actually a P-MVA panel.
