Project: Cheap mod for a cheap case :)

No problem :) I used a reset switch from some old case remainings, and mounted it on the back side of the cdrom, but i needed something to press is when the tray closes, so i cut out a small piece of wood, like this: Painted it in the same color as the tray, so you can hardly notice...

Project: Cheap mod for a cheap case :)

Finished painting the fan, decided to put it on the front panel: I wanted to install my power supply somewhere "out of the case" to gain some room inside, and i came up with this: Made it out of those wooden case feet i mentioned earlier and the rest of the metal net i had, to go under...

Project: Cheap mod for a cheap case :)

I started out by cutting a hole for a 120mm Glacialtech Silentblade fan: Found some unused picture frame on my attick, and used it for my new case feet :D Spray paint makes the difference :D Window on the top of the case so i can see my cdrom spinning

... or as i like to call it: JNC Case Re-born OR "cheapo" ==modding== > "Ultra Kewl Case" :p (I don't have digital camera, so please forgive me, and my crappy cell phone camera... :) ) This is how it looked before: (I know... I know... ugly... :D ) Don't have a "backup...

    CD-RW window mod

Yeah, but they probably don't ship to Croatia, and even if they do, the s&h fee + our taxes = 10 time more the price, because Croatia is not in the EU... I'll try to find it here, tnx anyway :)

    CD-RW window mod

I'll put it inside my case, after i cut a plexy window on the top, so it can be visible from above :) Can't seem to find red ultra bright LEDs, every store only has the yellow ones :( I will try to find the red ones, or just try with the yellow, maybe it works out nice ;)

    CD-RW window mod

Thanks :) Glad you like it... I painted the tray also, and i'll update the pics in a few days when i install the LEDs inside... ;) Which color of LEDs would be the best for it ?

    CD-RW window mod

I used plastic primer for the front cdrom panel and tray doors, and it worked good... Maybe i'll use just the primer for the tray, becaus it gives a nice gray-metallic color :)

    CD-RW window mod

Yeah, i thought of that, but im not sure how would the paint react to the heat inside, because it gets a little warm inside the cdrom case when the cd spins for a long time...
