Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Newegg isnt an option for me though. Has to be a Danish shop. They are a bit slow getting the cards it seems, except that Club3d brand which has been available since launch. Guess its an European brand. Same for Gainward.
There is a 2 year 'warranty' (although its not full warranty after the first 6 months, technically it only covers faults which existed from the beginning) on any product here, so its not even likely I would have to use the brands own warranty directly (but I guess the shop would use it if they...
Ok :/ Damn, I dont want to wait :D
Still nearly impossible to find 4870's here.
Cant find Visiontek in any shops whatsoever (not even as arriving later on). Only other brands from other shops would be Sapphire (in stock friday or so) and Powercolor (next week) but they would be a bit more...
Gigabyte and Visiontek isnt a choice though :/
Gainward, CLub3d, or Asus if I wait a week.
None of them got a lifetime warranty (actually the first two doesnt even seem happy about stating what warranty they got)
Which to pick, determined by their service (or lack of same), warranty, buyers experience with them and such.
Gainward 4870 or Club3d 4870? Or should I stay far away from both?
Price is same for both.
Reason is, its the only 2 brands I can get right now in the shop I was planning to order...
Would be lovely to get more tests of the P45 vs X38 crossfire. Despite what Tweaktown shows it seems really weird x8 should limit the cards.
Might we then expect 4870X2 to be limited by PCI-E 2.0 x16? Seems unlikely.
If their data is true (the few other tests Ive seen havent really shown...
I know this has been asked lots of times, but a conclusion never really seemed to appear.
Is the P45 really limiting 4800 crossfire or was the early tests influenced by faulty bios, drivers or similar? It seems kinda weird if the x8 bandwidth isnt enough.
Answers are highly appreciated, want...
Imo, right now (e.g. June/July/August - depending on when each of the new video cards actually becomes available) is a quite good time for getting a new computer.
We are still some time away from new CPU's, new GPU's arrived and we dont really know when next ones (likely die-shrinks of current...
This isnt about their actual performance! Since we obviously don't know yet.
I'm interesting in knowing ups and downs of going crossfire vs X2 (beside it takes 1 PCI-E slot instead of 2...).
Seems like it will be easier to find good third party cooler solutions for 2 crossfire boards...
Would remind you its just my opinion about the 140mm fan in PSU, people seemed to disagree when I posted it in my own current build thread :) So take it for what you want, going from very quiet to a slightly more quiet might be wasted effort and money.
The PSU I was looking at was Zalman...
:)
You are likely right, still the thing is, 620HX insanely quiet under normal load, not necessarily under heavy load.
Check the numbers at http://www.silentpcreview.com/article834-page5.html
Around 400W the fan spins up in their test. Reaching 400W isnt easy, and thats why Ive sticked to...
Been looking a bit more on PSU's.
A concern of mine has for a while been that the 620HX might get too loud under heavy load, due to its 120mm fan.
So today I looked at this:
Zalman ZM850-HP
Ill never use its insanely high watt limit of course, but it should have good cooling and a silent...
