Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I heard through the grapevine that the 8800 runs pretty hot. Any of you all running into issues with it?
I'm looking to build a computer with an 8800 inside, and was kinda planning on using the Antec Sonata III, seeing as how I really like my (quiet) Sonata II. It has a 550W PSU, and I'm...
Hm, were processors bottlenecked on the FSB in the past? I remember people mentioning that being important way back. And I now see the "2x" that I missed in the past - thanks for the heads up.
Seems like the intel Q6600 blows away the E6850 on the CPU charts at Tomshardware.com, but they're the same price on Newegg.
1) Why is the Q6600 so much faster (because quad?)
2) Why are they still the same price when one performs so much better? Faster FSB on the E6850?
Thanks.
I'm looking to build a new PC over Christmas due to the annual hardware price drop that occurs this time of year, and a question sprung to mind when browsing OS's.

When I play team fortress 2 on my desktop, there are two things that are obviously unimpressive past the lack of HDR:
1) The models mouths don't move when they talk
2) When a medic activates ubercharge, I don't get shiny - I just turn red or blue.
I play with my roommates, and theirs...
I'm really starting to lament my old motherboard. Only supports DDR memory, and I'm looking to add another gig. Unfortunately, I have a hard time paying upwards of 70 for another gig stick (I have one slot open) when I see DDR2 going at so much cheaper.
Newegg doesn't seem too keen on...
Do they even make DDR PC3600 memory anymore? It's been years since I built my computer and I had forgotten what was inside until I checked it on crucial. I'm looking to throw a 1GB stick in my last slot, and I'm worried that I'll have to pick up a couple of new sticks so the models match...
Hey [H]ard guys, I have a question, and am looking for a little guidance.
Right now, I have a GeForce FX 5900XT video card (aftermarket cooling installed, overclocked with Rivatuner), AMD Athlon 64 Processor 2800+ (1.80 GHz), and a 2x512 sticks of DDR PC3600 RAM and one empty slot.
Yeah...
