Your best bet is to run something like Nero InfoTool and get an ID string on the drive. Then you can match it up to find out who the real manufacturer was.
I bought one of these drives and it's a BenQ 1620A. I have also heard that some are BTCs, so it's pretty hit-or-miss whether you get the good BenQ or the horrib BTC.
After a while the text on the my computer gets garbled and the icons on my desktop go fuzzy. I then get an error message, which I can't read because the text is blank and if I hit the button which I assume should be "ok" my system hangs. My guess is a vid card problem due to improperly seated...
UPDATE:
I stopped by Office Depot and they had the drive. They pricematched the Staples price. They read all the details and gave it to me for $39.94 with NO REBATE!

I have an NV Silencer 5 installed on my PNY 6800 GT. I got it because because it would be more quiet, but it also dropped my idle and load temps 10-15C which allowed me to OC my card higher and still never hit, even under full load, what I used to hit at idle. It was a little tricky to install...
