I bought a 6870 and need to hook it up to my television and a monitor and use the 'Duplicate Display' mode.
Just as an aside, I previously had a 5450 and had 0 issues with the card (except that you couldn't do any gaming with it).
Anyways installed the 6870 and latest drivers and hooked it...
switched to the hdmi and it solved all the issues. My receiver now shows the proper audio format, audio works in games at any resolution and best of all dolby thd and dtsma now work.
I don't think the dvi will do bitstreaming. When I tried playing a dtsma movie I got errors that the output device does not support the sample/bitrate. Worked perfect on my 5450 on the hdmi.
Also, using dvi i would not get any sounds in games until I switched to 1920x1080.
Also watching...
Ya, it is kind of working but not as nicely as my 5450 was. For example street fighter 4 was giving me no audio, but as soon as I switched the in game resolution to 1920x1080 the sound turned on. So I guess it is possible to pass audio on a dvi (I read somewhere that it is possible using the...
I just bought a asus eng460tx video card without putting too much thought into what connectors were on the back. Ends up that it has 2 DVI and 1 display port, not sure I understand the reason for not putting a hdmi.
Anyways my previous card was a radeon 5450 and I was using the hdmi out to...
good point, never really took the cpu into consideration. i'm just looking to play a few non mouse/keyboard games on the big screen, stuff like street fighter 4, MvsC, dirt2 and a couple other games that are more console type games to be played with a controller. I have my actual pc for FPS...
is there any ati cards that are similar to the 460 in terms of gaming performance but still near the energy efficiency of the 5770? I guess i'm just trying to get the most card I can get without needing a new PSU.
If it helps, the computer has a single harddrive (intel ssd), only a single...
will a 5770 run ok with a 400w power supply? I have a silverstone 400W 80plus gold fanless power supply, I need to make sure it's ok before buying a new card I guess.
Also I can't find a definate answer, some places say that a 5770 only draws like 20W at idle and ~130W at full load, and...
I recently bought a 5450 for my htpc. The boxes main use is obivously for music/movies, but since i'm not a console gamer I occassionally like to play a game on the big screen. Yesterday I installed street fighter 4 on my htpc but the 5450 was not up to the task at 1920x1080, was only getting...
that's what i originally used and had issues.
I actually resolved my problems, I unclicked all of the internal transform filters except for the 3 dxva filters and everything works good now.
Hey guys, I thought I had everything all figured out, but I apparently have no clue what I am doing.
I was recently using the built in HD decoding of a core i3 but did not care for it so I went out and bought a radeon 5450 instead, it can at least do 24p and proper bitstreaming.
I installed the...
most of the stuff i watch is bluray rips. Is it very noticeable? I haven't seen anybody else mention this and i've read a bunch of forums/reviews of people using the i3 to watch bdroms. Hopefully it isn't that noticeable.
