I bought a 6870 and need to hook it up to my television and a monitor and use the 'Duplicate Display' mode.
Just as an aside, I previously had a 5450 and had 0 issues with the card (except that you couldn't do any gaming with it).
Anyways installed the 6870 and latest drivers and hooked it up to the displays.
Display 1 - DVI-D (also tried the dvi-i port for fun)
dell touchscreen
1920x1080 native res. 60hz
Display 2 - HDMI
lg plasma
1920x1080 native res. 60hz.
I'll mention as well that the hdmi goes from 6870 -> denon amp -> tv
windows sets the dell as primary and sees the second display which it calls 'denon_somethingorother' but it is set to disabled. When I click to duplicate displays i get an error.
I selected 'trade' or 'swap' or some option like that and it will switch displays so that now my tv works but the monitor goes black. Try duplicating displays at this point and I still get the error (now the dell is in disabled mode).
I've tried playing around with settings in CCC and windows display manager and nothing works. Even tried swapping dvi ports and still nothing.
Also, the hdmi audio drivers are installed and listed under playback devices but it always shows it not connected.
Does anyone have any tips or advice to get this going? I'd think something as simple as this would work right out of the box. My <$50 5450 worked with ease at doing duplicate displays and hdmi audio but it seems like I have to jump through hoops to get it working on a $200 card.
Any and all help would really be appreciated.
