    Lapcool pro?

Looking through coolers I found the Lapcool Pro. I like to use a laptop on my lap, rather than on a desk. Is this one any good? Two 120mm adjustable fans, and can take a 17" laptop.

Using a notebook as a desktop

I'm looking into the dual monitor options myself. Other than the product ZMTToxics mentioned, the same company has something called Triplehead2go which allows three monitors. The problem with that though, is the lack of any onboard graphics memory. Same problem with USB-based EVGA UV+. There are...

    Multiple Expresscard slots

I'm looking for a device to connect multiple expresscards to a laptop. I understand the only way to get optimum efficiency from an expresscard device would be to connect it directly to the motherboard through an expresscard or cardbus (through adapter). Are there any expresscard-based...

    Expresscard sound cards

Thanks, that one actually struck me sometime earlier in the day. The laptop I'm getting's an expresscard/54 one. The wireless x-fi's expresscard/34, but it comes with a piece of plastic that works as an adapter, effectively making it expresscard/54. Clever. Still can't decide whether or not...

    Extra monitors - external options

It seems the VTBook one is the only one that provides additional graphics acceleration. The UV+ and Dual/Triple-head2go both depend on your graphics card. Are there any others? Especially any that might give you additional juice to run the monitors on?

Question on buying a new laptop

I'm not quite certain how much performance I'll get out of the 400mhz and 3mb cache increase. If it's a huge amount, I'd consider it, but the two chips are 175 dollars apart.

    Expresscard sound cards

I think the laptop has an option for adding an X-Fi Xtreme Notebook card, it just seems a lot cheaper to buy that separately aftermarket. How about this older one?

Question on buying a new laptop

    Is there a huge difference between a T8100 (2.1ghz 3MB L2 cache) and the T9300 up there (2.5ghz 6MB L2 cache)?

    ThermaPAK vs Fans

This one's for laptops, how effective is the crystals in ThermaPAK option compared to fan-based coolers like the Zalman NC2000. Just more research on the way to that perfect laptop, thanks!

Question on buying a new laptop

So I'm finally going for the Sager NP5793 after all. These are the specs I'm opting for: Essentials 17" WUXGA "Glare Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Glossy Screen (1920x1200) Intel® T9300 45nm "Penryn" Core™2 Duo 2.5GHz w/6MB L2 On-die cache - 800MHz FSB 512MB PCI-Express nVidia...

    Extra monitors - external options

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who helped me out on my laptop choosing thread. I haven't decided, but I'm definitely not going Mac this time, not yet at least. If anyone has any more insights, I'd definitely appreciate them, but I'm definitely leaning towards something with the Sager...

Question on buying a new laptop

FCP is great, yes, but it's not a film standard, not by any means. I personally use it more for pre-designed effects and rough cuts than anything else as its so blazingly fast you can make rough cuts as you shoot. All my cleaning and fine-tuning takes place in Avid and After-effects (both...
