    First Haswell engineering sample?

Shouldn't Cinebench report the CPU's current clockrate? In this case 5.39 instead of 3.6.

    First Haswell engineering sample?

Just saw this on irc http://pile.io/z47D 5.4 @ 1.372v? If it's real then wow...

Question for Logitech G700 mouse users!

I've had the exact same problem on 2 of my G700s. I am now on my 3rd one. Both of my previous G700s started developing the double click issue after 7-8 months of heavy use. I'm starting to think this is a design flaw and it has something to do with the microswitches they are using.

What cables does the U2412M box come with? DVI only?

    Fast 5Ghz Ad-hoc network

I would like to connect 2 computers at a distance of ~8 meters with only a wall in between. Sustained real life performance should be 100+ Mbps. Obviously I cannot run an ethernet cable. Now, a Linksys E4200 coupled with a 3 antenna adapter like the TEW-684UB should work like a champ but...

I guess you are booting from another drive on a lightweight linux, using hdparm and then rebooting?

    P8P67 & ATA Password

Has anyone tried the encryption feature of the Intel 320 SSDs on a P8P67? I cannot find any mention of ATA password in the BIOS manual.

    OCZ RMA Nightmare.

Call them out on their forums and you'll get a reply within a few hours. The Vertex g1 is absolutely horrible, a flawed product by design. Apparently installing a 5 GB game and then having the drive freeze for a few minutes is a "feature".

    Intel New SSD's next month?

Benchmarks: http://en.expreview.com/2011/03/23/world-exclusive-review-intel-g3-ssd-80gb/15569.html Marginal improvements and usage of sata2 despite the fact it's a bottleneck for any SSD manufactured in the last 2 years. Highly disappointing. This is the kind of crap you'd expect from Apple...

    Interpretting iostat

It can be used to to find out if a device is bottlenecking the entire array. The numbers to look for are await and svctm. In your case everything looks normal. Type man iostat for more information. If you really want to benchmark the array you have to run a dd or bonnie++ test.

    Hardware-Encrypted SSDs

Encryption on Sandforce 1xxx is useless, as the decryption key is stored on the damn drive. Still waiting on a decent FIPS-certified hardware encrypted SSD (hello Intel, you there?)

    Intel New SSD's next month?

My beef with the Intel 510 is this: isn't a prosumer/enterprise device like that supposed to have hardware encryption? By taking the easy way and using Marvell's controller Intel have missed another huge feature that a drive of this caliber should have. That, and the random 4k reads which are...

Intel Announces Next in Solid-State Drive Line Up

I bet that Intel will be pushing its Lightpeak/Thunderbolt as a successor to sata3 (Integrated to the Ivy Bridge chipset).
