If that's the case I think I'll be fine. I'd guess my Oc'ed CPU probably uses up 180w under full, 100% load. Add in a couple 10w HDDS and a few cases fans, and however much my mainboard and DVD suck up - and this is assuming 100% usage.

Well, I went ahead and returned my 6600 and got another. I lost about 10c off all my temps, highest I've gotten with ORTHOS is 45c, I idle around 35c. Well, I actually use the Ntune software, which reports proetty much identical results compared to Core and TAT. My temps, on average seem to be higher than the norm - maybe they aren't, and I'm probably overreacting. I just don't wanna be stuck with a dud chip. :) The store isn't open quite yet...

Well, all I changed was the Vcore to 1.375 to 1.365 - I also changed the FSB to 1500. It seems to be running stable, I let it run all night last night - but when I woke up it had went into Standby mode, which it would not wake from. Thanks for the info man, you guys saved me a lot of trouble returning the CPU. I'm coming from an AMD system, so, these temps kinda alarmed me - but I also didn't have my AMD OC'ed by almost a ghz, lol.

Oh really? Are they that bad? I almost kinda want to take it out and check, at least I can return it a couple times and attempt to get a better one. Would probably be a waste of time however - especially if these temps are the norm, my chances of getting anything different would probably be low.

Nope, it shows the temps at there normal idle range in bios. So yeah, just some weird software complication I'm guessing.
