I played the game for a couple of hours (what a fucking slog) and have not bothered with this pile of shit since. Not even remotely bothered about their useless patches by the sound of it.
Fantastic summing up!
The first thing is your cpu. If you are using the cpu in your sig it is no where near enough to drive 3 580's. Forget all the at that res you are gpu bound. Yes to a certain amount you are but you really really need a lot of gpu power to get three fermi working in certain games. My 920 @4...
I will give it a try and see what happens.I assumed for 3d to work with the TV it would need the HDMI 1.4 handshake.
It is not DDL or DTS connect. It HD sound DTS master audio and DD true HD I am after.
My amp is only hdmi 1.3 onkyo 875. So i need a way of getting hdmi 1.4 from my 460 to the tv and HD sound to my amp. The amp wont let the 1.4 3d through as it is only 1.3.
This is why I need another way of getting HD sound (1.3) to my amp. The only other way I can thing is to use another...
Hi all I was wondering of any one has tried or knows if it would be possible to use the above config to get 3d to my tv with the 460 and get HD audio to my Onkyo 875 hdmi 1.3 amp with the xonar. I cannot see why it would not work but you never know with pc stuff.
Cheers

I can certainly take a look. I am finding that my 920@4 gig is not able to get the cards at full tilt in BC2. What settings are you using. I would say at a glance I am probably about 10 - 15% slower than your figures. I only really play online so my min is very important. I don't like HBAO...
I can help there. I was building a rig for a mate. He does a lot of video and photo work so asked for a hex core so I got him a 980. I thought I should 'try it' :D with BC2 to see if it would run it any faster. It made next to no difference at 4 gig which mine runs at. Again all cores and...
I have the same problem with these as the .51 beta's in BC2. The middle screen is moved to the right by about and inch. Performance is all over the place. Have gone back to 267.91.
They were moving in the right direction with bc2 but have broken it again. I wonder if it is to do with...
The few games I have found that use the most ram so far Dirt 2 (1500 + all max 4x aa), Alien v Pred (1500 + all max 4 x aa) and BC2 1450+ (all max 4 x aa) Try putting BC2 upto 8 x MSAA not CSAA in game and you will find things like water disappear. That seems to be the way the engine copes...
Yeah you do need to make sure you have them split. It was not just both cards you had on it it was your whole system by the sound of it. I had a 470 in my system (borrowed) to try as physx card and my psu was still fine with a hefty OC on gpu's and cpu. I am looking at getting the new 1200...
That would be great thanks. It was mainly no performance gain or even less with tri and stuttering that lots of people were complaining about when the surround drivers were first out.
Bringing this one back up. To the guys with Tri-Sli 480's and surround have the new drivers sorted out the performance problems. I know 3d seems to be ok but am using 2d.
Cheers
Very nice set-up. I would have gone for 3 30"s but just cannot fit them in my space. Ignore the idiots that have no idea what they are talking about.
As Kyle said the GFX cards still have to draw the pixels that are behind the bezel so you are running that res. You get lower performance...
They are the loudest and hottest cards I have used BUT if you have them in the right case and use some fan profiles they are not that bad. I use headphones it is not a real problem for me. I have them in a HAF-X case with 120 CFM sythe fan controlled by a fan controller with a thermal sensor...
If you are getting that screen you may as well get the 3d kit and get the second card. Even on the relativity small res of 1080p when 3d goes on you still loose alot of fps. You really want to get as close to 60fps in every game that you can. With one card and 3d some games you wont get there.
