Hi all I was wondering of any one has tried or knows if it would be possible to use the above config to get 3d to my tv with the 460 and get HD audio to my Onkyo 875 hdmi 1.3 amp with the xonar. I cannot see why it would not work but you never know with pc stuff.

Cheers

John

3D requires HDMI 1.4 but the HDAV is 1.3a.

Unless I'm mistaken, the HDAV uses pass-thru to output HDMI audio and wont work without an incoming HDMI video signal.

Wont the 460 do HDMI audio?

Um, I have to ask but why?

The 460 already does HDMI audio, it even does DTS-MA and TrueHD audio formats.... so why do you want to use a HDAV?

I actually had the video out that was going to the TV not go thru the Xonar and had the Xonar sending the audio to the AVR. I'm not sure if the Xonar requires something connected to it's input as I might have had some thing connected to it because at the time I did I was having a a display driver issue on my hybrid sli.

Maybe because it doesn't do DD live/DTS interactive

My amp is only hdmi 1.3 onkyo 875. So i need a way of getting hdmi 1.4 from my 460 to the tv and HD sound to my amp. The amp wont let the 1.4 3d through as it is only 1.3.

This is why I need another way of getting HD sound (1.3) to my amp. The only other way I can thing is to use another motherboard that can take 2 gfx cards and use my 460 with something that can stream HD sound.

Use the HDMI output to the amp for sound and use the DVI (DVI to HDMI cable or adapter) to the TV for video then clone the display. I'm assuming this will work.

I will give it a try and see what happens.I assumed for 3d to work with the TV it would need the HDMI 1.4 handshake.

Why is DDL or DTS Connect needed?

It is not DDL or DTS connect. It HD sound DTS master audio and DD true HD I am after.

Is there some sort of dummy plug available?
