Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
thx for your response
yeha I thought about a dedicated physX card, but I've been playing BFBC2 and I think my videocard + core i7 can very much handle the physX in games for the time being ... I'll think about it :P
I have a GTX 275 at the moment with a monitor and a projector plugged in, but would like to have my second monitor plugged in too.
Can I just buy a cheap nvidia videocard (like the 8400gs passive) and plug my third "monitor" on it ? I think I read somewhere this is possible but would like some...
well even he does notice I RMA'ed his card, twice, so he shouldn't complain too much :P (Also he mostly play CS1.6 and CSS is way less demanding than TF2, the game I play)
thanks for the answers I'll make the switch as soon as he's away ^^
I am thinking about switching it with my brother's 8800gt (after all I RMA'ed his card, twice ! :P) as he only play CS 1.6/CSS so I guess he won't notice
Thanks for all your replys, I am also considering going for a 48xx or gtx 2xx this fall ... (I just updated to my new config so It would be...
thanks for the replys guys, I guess I'll wait a bit to see what goes on, I would really hate to spend 300$ on a new video card when my "one" one is still doing the job just fine for now ...
Yep, it still works just fine (I played 10+ hours of TF2 today with it).
yep sorry for the spelling I meant solder :P (wikipedia returned welding as the closest translation ^^)
I installed my 7950gx2 (after cleaning my case) a few days ago and I broke a cylinder on it:
(it may be another of those 3 cylinder, but I can't recall and I'm too lazy to check) It is also worth noting that on the GX2 there are more of these cylinder on the card below than the one on top.
I...
Well thx for you reply folks. Hope that'll make him change his mind about transporting his lcd to my house :D
I just got a brilliant idea: whether he carry his lcd OR he'll have my old black and white 13" tv :p :P That would be awesome to play company's of heroes as it is a ww2 universe...
Suppose there's no longer the original package at our disposal?
The real problem is really protecting the viewable area of the screen, 'cause the rest isn't a real problem
And what about static? Does anyone know if it could be an issue?
Well a friend of mine got a viewsonic 22" WS [16/10] and is wondering how he could transport it to a lan party ... any suggestion?
We doubt a big bag would do the job but maybe we're wrong.
Might there be some issues with static? Suggestions?
Thx!
I'm not saying I would not like to have a 16x9 monitor with every single game supporting it ,I'm only telling facts. (and having a real one myself)
In some games turning off everything and playing @ultra LOW setting will help you as there's no real dark on the map (such as doom3 / quake 4 for...
Yeha it's dam complicated to create and the initial LCD panel is also pretty expensive + box, mirors, fans, etc...
it takes places too. Big investment for a quality not as good as commercial one. Maybe when I'll have more money I could try building a DIY projector but i never build anything...
Yep x1900xtx vs 7950 are pretty much the same, but those two really need you to play @1600 res minimum in order to use what you pay for.
Yesterday I was choosing pieces of hardware for a "gamer" who didn't even know what directX or FSAA was and wanted a x1900xtx to play in 1024 res so this is...
Well WS is also a cheat according to many. It gives an overall advantage over the one who are still in 4:3.
I saw the screenshoot difference in Counter-strike source and it's obvious that with WS you have a very large vision angle and can see ennemies comming you couldn't possibly see...
