Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I just installed a 4870 and have been planning some games. The performance is great, but I keep getting tons of horizontal lines through the screen. I think it's called picture tearing. I've heard that turning on V-Sync will solve this. The only problem is I have no clue how to turn it on...
I just built my new machine. Turned it on and it gets some power than shuts off, but trys to start up again.
The fans will try to spin, the video card light comes on but only for 1 second than no power,1 second back on, 1 second no power. It sounds like a heart beating.
I don't know...
Excellent help guys, thanks a lot! I've cut down a nice chunk of money by making the changes you have suggested.
I've never overclocked before so I'm a little nervous about that. I'll search for some guides on how to do it.
I've heard the 4870 card runs hot, would it be worthwhile to...
Wow great post. I'm going to look into those changes. What PSU would you recommended for this build?
I'll be buying a 24" monitor in about 2 weeks
I was planning on OCing so I was gonna pick up a ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - that pretty solid?
Hey guys, building a new machine specifically for gaming and watching movies on. I need this thing to kick major ass and run real smooth. I'd like some input on the parts. Would you change anything? Etc.

Nice, thanks.
People keep talking about the 8800GT video card, how does the 9600GT compare?
How would I find out if my motherboard supports the E8400? Sorry if that's a stupid question.
When I built my machine, the community here was extremely helpful. I'd like to update my rig specifically for gaming. I'm a gamer (I'll be playing Age of Conan almost exclusively) so keep that in mind.
My current system is comprised of:
