Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I feel like an idiot but apparently my wife decided to mix together all the cables from my Enermax Liberty and Corsair PSUs into one box and when I went looking for a cable with a SATA connector I must've picked the Enermax one out...which connected to the Corsair connector designed for PCI-E...
It was a cable that plugged into the same type of port on the PSU that the 8800GT cord plugs into. It had 2 SATA connectors and 2 4plug molex connectors on it.
Yesterday I tried to add 2 new HDs to my current setup below. They were both WD640AAKS SATA drives. I connected all 3 drives using a single connector (the raptor with one of the 4pin connectors and the 2 new drives with the sata power connectors). As soon as I booted the computer I got the...
Ok I left the Vcore at auto and it seems to run fine for several hours, tops out at 1.37-1.39v on everest. I'm happy with 3.2 Ghz for now, at least until I can see if I even notice a difference in performance in everyday use :)
thanks for the reply!
P.S. Is Vcore a static # or does the...
I just put together my new computer a couple of weeks ago and finally have things stable enough to where I tried an overclock. I'm relatively new at this, have done minimal overclocks in the past but this is the "largest" I've tried so far.
E6750
GA-DS3L
Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800
Arctic cooling...
This may be a silly question, but I just finished building my first intel c2d build. I've got:
E6750
Arctic cooling pro 7
Gigabyte DS3L
My temps at idle (using everest) are:
core1: 28
core2: 32
cpu : 23
Just wondering why there's such a large difference between core and cpu...
It's always:
Good
20000000
Bad
22000000
Over and over and over and over...always in test #6. The address/location alway changes tho. Seems really odd but what do I know about memory? ;)
Well the locations are different but it's always the same error...on the same test. I'm going to RMA it and cross my fingers :)
thanks everyone for the help!
Alright.
Good stick ran for 8 hours no errors (14 passes)
Bad stick at 1.9v 20 running now....106 errors first pass. Does it mean anything that it's always the exact same error?
Good: 20000000 Bad: 22000000
Anyway I imagine this means RMA-time? They're a kit from newegg so...
Ok more results. I tested each stick separately for an hour each. Both in slot1. The first stick had 0 errors, the second stick had 105 errors. All the errors occurred during test#6 and were exactly the same. No errors occurred with the other tests.
The G.skill site says the RAM is...
I had a quick question about my RAM. I just build a computer with the parts below. Since I've had it I've been having problems in games with occasional display driver failures and directx errors that occasionally cause the game to crash. I've tried all the different drivers/BIOS settings with...
Ok I just put together a new build. Everything was working fine when I logged into windows xp and backed up my drives so that I can do a clean install of Vista 64.
When I boot from the vista dvd it takes 5 minutes to get to the first screen, where it asks language, etc. Then each step...
Thanks for the replies. I'm going to be putting together my new rig this weekend and *really* want to get it all done this weekend. I don't want to wait another week to get the 64 bit windows dvd or install 32bit and have to do another fresh install later.
Glad to know I can use his dvd...
Ok I just received my retail copy of Vista Home Premium yesterday. I'm planning to use 64bit VIsta because I've got 4GB RAM. I was planning to order the 64bit DVD version online but was wondering if I could just burn a copy of my friend's retail Vista Ultimate DVD and install it using my...
