    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

I got the 226BW the day it came out, and I still love it. If you want direct HDMI input to play HD console games on your computer monitor (for whatever reason), buy a more expensive monitor with the input. Otherwise, it's awesome.

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Yep. There's a source button that lets you switch between DVI and analog.

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

I'm using the M4 from Humanscale. http://www.humanscale.com/products/msupport_m4.cfm And no, it doesn't automatically change. It's really easy tho through the Nvidea control pannel. Three clicks.

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

I love this thing. Especially with a new swivel monitor arm. (just ignore the camera flash)

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Peg, I play Unreal Tournament scaled down to 1280 * 1024 and I can't tell the difference from my old LCD that actually was a native 1280 * 1024. Still crystal clear (for UT at least).

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

I've owned a 226bw for a couple days now. It's amazing, except... When I run Unreal Tournament 2004 (i'm old school), I play scaled at 1280 * 1024. When I run it in at 1680 * 1050 unscaled, it's feels sluggish. I guess this is what input lag is? I'm thinking this is more of my old TI 4200...

Pegleg, this is probably the link you're referring to. It's a comparison of 22'' LCDs. http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pcpop.com%2Fdoc%2F0%2F174%2F174242_15.shtml&langpair=zh%7Cen&hl=it&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools I just got my 226bw and I love it so...

    22" lcd test. Interesting results

verylostindeed, I just got the 226bw and it's great. I have my Nvidea control panel set to automatically scale anything not widescreen. It works just fine. I play old games in this format and there are two black bars on each side of the screen, centering the main image. Works just fine...

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

So I've finally decided not to buy this monitor and to get the Samsung 226BW instead. From the pictures I've seen and the reviews I've read, the 226BW seems to take the cake. Here's a thread linking to a head on 22'' comparison. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1152548

    22" lcd test. Interesting results

I'm not sure about the panels, but this confirms what I've suspected about the Samsung 226BW taking the lead as the best 22'' widescreen LCD.

Diabolikul , you're awesome. Thanks for the review. SBeNder, a 22'' widescreen is basically the same viewing area vertically as a 19'' and obviously longer horizontally.

jhhack, could you give us an overview? Some things to check out: Backlight bleed, clarity of text, input lag, richness of color, ghosting during video, any other good or bad stuff. thnx

    DVI Won't work now?

Yeah I'd try to get a replacement. I don't have a sceptre myself, but I was about to purchase a x22wg before I read reviews on Newegg that a good number of people have had their DVI ports go bad. http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustratingReview.asp?item=N82E16824112005 good luck.

...or you could go with the new samsung 226BW. good reviews, and the pics in the thread here show very little backlight bleed. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1144130&page=3
