I got the 226BW the day it came out, and I still love it. If you want direct HDMI input to play HD console games on your computer monitor (for whatever reason), buy a more expensive monitor with the input. Otherwise, it's awesome.

Yep. There's a source button that lets you switch between DVI and analog.

I'm using the M4 from Humanscale. http://www.humanscale.com/products/msupport_m4.cfm And no, it doesn't automatically change. It's really easy tho through the Nvidea control pannel. Three clicks.

I love this thing. Especially with a new swivel monitor arm. (just ignore the camera flash)

Peg, I play Unreal Tournament scaled down to 1280 * 1024 and I can't tell the difference from my old LCD that actually was a native 1280 * 1024. Still crystal clear (for UT at least).

I've owned a 226bw for a couple days now. It's amazing, except... When I run Unreal Tournament 2004 (i'm old school), I play scaled at 1280 * 1024. When I run it in at 1680 * 1050 unscaled, it's feels sluggish. I guess this is what input lag is? I'm thinking this is more of my old TI 4200...

verylostindeed, I just got the 226bw and it's great. I have my Nvidea control panel set to automatically scale anything not widescreen. It works just fine. I play old games in this format and there are two black bars on each side of the screen, centering the main image. Works just fine...

I'm not sure about the panels, but this confirms what I've suspected about the Samsung 226BW taking the lead as the best 22'' widescreen LCD.

Diabolikul , you're awesome. Thanks for the review. SBeNder, a 22'' widescreen is basically the same viewing area vertically as a 19'' and obviously longer horizontally.

jhhack, could you give us an overview? Some things to check out: Backlight bleed, clarity of text, input lag, richness of color, ghosting during video, any other good or bad stuff. thnx

Well I saw it on the shelves at best buy. I can confirm some top and bottom backlight bleed. Not bad, but I was hoping for none. I compared it side by side with a 22'' Westinghouse and couldnt tell much difference in the 6 picture demo. Man I wish I had that thing hooked up to a pc to test...

So I bought an NEC LCD 1765 and the thing is amazing. Analog-converted picture clarity is better than any DVI I've seen. And the protective glass prevents my monkey from climbing on my desk and scratching the screen. However... I've come to notice that the thing is brighter at the bottom...
