I got the 226BW the day it came out, and I still love it.
If you want direct HDMI input to play HD console games on your computer monitor (for whatever reason), buy a more expensive monitor with the input. Otherwise, it's awesome.
I'm using the M4 from Humanscale. http://www.humanscale.com/products/msupport_m4.cfm
And no, it doesn't automatically change. It's really easy tho through the Nvidea control pannel. Three clicks.
Peg, I play Unreal Tournament scaled down to 1280 * 1024 and I can't tell the difference from my old LCD that actually was a native 1280 * 1024. Still crystal clear (for UT at least).
I've owned a 226bw for a couple days now. It's amazing, except...
When I run Unreal Tournament 2004 (i'm old school), I play scaled at 1280 * 1024. When I run it in at 1680 * 1050 unscaled, it's feels sluggish. I guess this is what input lag is? I'm thinking this is more of my old TI 4200...
Pegleg, this is probably the link you're referring to. It's a comparison of 22'' LCDs.

I just got my 226bw and I love it so...
verylostindeed, I just got the 226bw and it's great. I have my Nvidea control panel set to automatically scale anything not widescreen. It works just fine. I play old games in this format and there are two black bars on each side of the screen, centering the main image. Works just fine...
So I've finally decided not to buy this monitor and to get the Samsung 226BW instead. From the pictures I've seen and the reviews I've read, the 226BW seems to take the cake. Here's a thread linking to a head on 22'' comparison.

Diabolikul , you're awesome. Thanks for the review.
SBeNder, a 22'' widescreen is basically the same viewing area vertically as a 19'' and obviously longer horizontally.
jhhack, could you give us an overview? Some things to check out:
Backlight bleed, clarity of text, input lag, richness of color, ghosting during video, any other good or bad stuff. thnx
Yeah I'd try to get a replacement. I don't have a sceptre myself, but I was about to purchase a x22wg before I read reviews on Newegg that a good number of people have had their DVI ports go bad.

good luck.
...or you could go with the new samsung 226BW. good reviews, and the pics in the thread here show very little backlight bleed.

So I'm still not seeing why this is worth the price increase from other 22'' LCDs. From the posts, I hear there's standard backlight bleed and you gotta do some serious configuring the to the defaults before color looks decent. It doesn't even come with a DVI cable. And is it really a good...
Well I saw it on the shelves at best buy. I can confirm some top and bottom backlight bleed. Not bad, but I was hoping for none. I compared it side by side with a 22'' Westinghouse and couldnt tell much difference in the 6 picture demo. Man I wish I had that thing hooked up to a pc to test...
I called my local best buy. They said they just got 4 in stock today. He said they were too busy and couldn't put one out on display for awhile. Nothing he could do about it. I had my gf call back later and she asked the same guy the same thing. He said he'd put one out on display right...
So I want a TV in my bathroom and possibly kitchen, but I don't have the room for CRTs. The under-the-counter LCD TVs are still pretty expensive. Is there any type of no frills LCD screen that has video and audio inputs?
I figure if I found something with RCA inputs, I could input stuff...
no, not sure. But i've never had any problems with static electricity in my room before.
And even if I had rubbed my feet across the carpet 50 times, don't you think it would be strange that I could fry my monitor by simply touching the power button? It's not like this is an exposed...
So I've had an NEC MultiSync LCD 1765 for a little over a year. Today I reached around to the side control to turn it off, and @#$!#$%@# the damn thing shocked me.
The screen still displays fine, but I can't use any of the controls, like the power button.
NEC's gracious (1 year)...
Hey, I can't find any reviews for this motherboard or chipset. I know Asus is decent, but anyone have any input on this board/chipsets?
Asus A7V8X-X VIA Socket A ATX Motherboard
VIA KT400 Northbridge chipset and VIA VT 6235 Southbridge chipset
I just bought the Logitech Z-680's as well and I need a new soundcard. Does anyone know the difference between the Audigy LS and ES? I'm probably going to buy one off NewEgg, and I don't see any differences in the specs. Thanks all.

wow. this thread reminded me that i have old nintendo powers boxed up. I just checked in my basement, and I have every single nintendo power up to 1997, including that Dragon Warrior strategy guide. I was gonna throw them all away, but now I'm gonna sell these suckers. Thanks for the heads...
This seems pretty warm. Enter coupon code "fc20discount" to get $50 off of the alcomate pro, located here http://breathalyzer.net/ampro.html
It's 140- 50 = 90 shipped for a "professional grade" breathalyzer.
I think this coupon was supposed to be for the FC 20 breathalyzer, which is like...
"The point of this thread was for us to bitch about getting screwed over by a company who sent out an email saying "SORRY...too bad" and offering no obvious restitution or recourse."
My order got canceled by BB too, but they sent me a 10% off coupon good for anything on BB.com to make up...
So I bought an NEC LCD 1765 and the thing is amazing. Analog-converted picture clarity is better than any DVI I've seen. And the protective glass prevents my monkey from climbing on my desk and scratching the screen. However...
I've come to notice that the thing is brighter at the bottom...
I just bought the NEC 1765 and it was worth every penny, even though it is only 17 inch. It's an analog, but the picture quality is 10 times better than any DVI I've seen.
There are a few drawlbacks though, a thread on it is here

I have the EXACT same problem with the same model Dell. All of a sudden, it looks like you can see the screen refreshing , but turning it on/off will set it straight for awhile. It has happened ever since I bought the system new 3 years ago. Originally Dell tech support had me reinstall my...
Tres weird, I was just about to post asking if anyone has an opinion of the 1765. I've done a ton of research, and this looks like the nicest picture I've seen of all LCDs. Plus, nice refresh rate.
Wileycat, you get annoyed by glare at all? I hear the front plastic protective layer is...
