Ok let me take a deep breath before I begin...
So this all started with running NewSID from SysInternals on my Vista64 machine. Yes I knew the risks, but it seemed 50/50 from what I had read on other forums around the Internet so I went ahead and took my chances with it.
Sure enough...
One thing is for certain, it is a Vista only issue. Cant really say who is to blame for it, perhaps both parties....but thats not really what matters.
Its not my temps, they are at like 75 under load. Also the card is 3 MONTHS old, so idk if an RMA through Newegg is possible at this point...
I am sure many of you have heard of the dreaded nvlddmkm.sys bug and the "display driver has stopped responding and has recovered successfully" error. Well, I am sad to say that I now have the problem and I cant seem to track it down. There was an interesting thread on these boards trying to...
One more question...the window I made on the side panel isnt exactly air tight. Im guessing the air leaks on the side will affect my negative pressure...or is the pressure not strong enough to worry about it?
My temps arent THAT bad, but they could be better. My CPU is running at about 30C-37C @ 2.8ghz with a 1.16 vcore. I'm aiming for no higher than 32C across 4 cores at 3.0ghz. Hoping better airflow can get me there.
Thanks for the feedback. I never knew about the negative pressure thing. I put a window on the side, and chucked the side fan. i figured the P-180 didnt have a side fan, so I would be ok without it, but it was quite a mental debate for me.
Right now, every fan in my case is a Antec...
Ok so I have taken a few measures to make sure I am getting optimal airflow out of my case, but my motherboard seems to be an issue here. Here is a pic I made to illustrate whats going on.
As you can see I have 3 fans in the front that act as intake, and 3 fans in the rear that act as...
I will be ordering a small lcd thermometer to place on my case window to monitor my temps while in game or times when I cant see my core temp.
How accurate can I get with a physical sensor and not the sensor on the cpu, and where is the best place to place the sensor?
I would think under...
I was peering in my pc's windows the other day, checking out my evga 680i's post codes. and noticed that under Linux they change from time to time.
Under Windows it never changes, stays FF. Under Linux it changes periodically from things like C0, to FF, to all sorts of things.
Just...
Yep, I found it. Turns out my voltage is increased automatically when I hit 3.0ghz to 1.4V!!
So...how low do you think I can set my voltage and still achieve 3.0ghz?
Is it possible that my voltage is increasing automatically when I OC? Since my voltage is set to auto, when I OC to 3.0 is it possibly my mobo is setting my voltage higher automatically for me and possibly going too high causing a lot of heat? Maybe 3.0 is the limit at which it increases...
Well at this stage we are just considering more cooling options. I am using AS5, an Antec Tricool on highest setting for my CPU fan (not the best I know but was the best my local store carried).
How do you put your TU120E on backwards?? I have it facing east and west and blowing towards my...
All my voltages have been set on Auto except my memory voltage which I set on 1.8V when i stepped up my timings a bit.
My other voltages are as follows:
nForce SPP : 1.40V
nForce MCP : 1.500V
HT nForce SPP <-> MCP : 1.20V
I have read that nvidia OC guide, but I didnt feel like it...
Ok just checked BIOS and here it is:
CPU Core : 1.15V
CPU FSB : 1.39V
Memory : 1.86V
+3.3V : 3.2V
+3.3V Dual : 3.2V
+12V : 12.03V
+5V : 4.91V
+Vbat : 3.04V
Looks like HWMonitor was a bit off. However my CPU voltage stays...
Thanks morkboy.
nTune is the best thing I got with my motherboard. However, I cant get it to run on Vista 64bit.
Ill go ahead and check my bios. Cant get much more accurate than that right? :p
