Thanks for the help. I upgraded the Bios and the 3800x chip worked and the memory 'reservation' went away in both Windows and Linux. I wasn't able to keep the board stable with the 3800x (nor always post) so I purchased a used b450 board and things are rocking now. Thanks

I have purchased a few as of late, and probably my favorite is still the Corsair 500R case. I would go with the Corsair 850D for a full tower choice. I was greatly disappointed with a Bitfenix Ghost I recently got on sale (thank goodness for that)

Good luck, let me know how it goes. Mine has resolved, but the CPU temp hovers around 84c which is extremely high. I have tried 3 different CPU Coolers (Intel Stock, Zalman, and Arctic cooling 11 plus) and the CPU still runs extremely warm. 64 to 84 c. At least it boots. Problem...

Thanks. I pulled it out. Still didn't boot. Was about to pull the CPU out and try to boot when I notice that even for 2 to 3 seconds the CPU was extremely hot to the touch. I found a space Arctic Cooler for LGA775 installed it... and voila it booted! Now I have a new issue, despite the...
