    The Router Recommendations Thread (Consumer)

The cost is the same for me since I work for the company providing the service. We were getting close to our limit every month so I thought why not. I also needed a wi-fi upgrade anyway.

    The Router Recommendations Thread (Consumer)

I am OK with 1 Gbps LAN. My only wired units are a printer and a desktop PC with a gigabit ethernet port. I just want the connection from the router to the modem to support 5Gbps. In looking at that router I could use the 10baseT port to connect to the modem correct?

    The Router Recommendations Thread (Consumer)

So I've upgraded from 1Gbps to 5Gbps fiber and got a new modem with a 5Gb LAN port. I'm currently using an Asus AC2900 with 1Gbps LAN. I'd like to get a router with at least a 5Gbps WAN port but most of what I see is 2.5Gbps. Is there a wireless router with a 5Gbps LAN port?

M27Q Stuck pixel blues - Update, its going back due to other image issues.

I pulled the trigger on a Gigabyte M27Q and it seems like it will work well, and being on sale didn't hurt. However I have a stuck pixel that shows if there is a white background on the desktop. I have not seen it in a game yet. I tried running jscreenfix first for 15 minutes, then 20, then...

Need a new monitor and my brain hurts. - 03/06/2021 Update, its M day.

I ended up getting the M27Q and it has a stuck pixel. I guess I should have spent more for the LG.

    Soundblaster AE-7 on sale sorta

I currently have an Asus ROG STRIX X470-F motherboard and I am using on-board sound. I thought the sound was fine but after listening to some gameplay videos with better setups I feel like mine is a little tinny and not as rich/deep. I'm using Senheiser GSP 302 headphones and yes I can hear...

    Soundblaster AE-7 on sale sorta

Is this a good price for an AE-7? It seems newer than an AE-5. I just want some better sound than on board audio for games. I've upped my budget a little bit from an earlier post. I don't think I need an external DAC for what I'm doing. Also do I need the desktop volume control or is that...

Need a new monitor and my brain hurts. - 03/06/2021 Update, its M day.

So I poked around a little more, increased my budget and I'm stuck between the following: LG GL850B - Expensive but everyone seems to like it. Gigabyte M27Q - On sale right now for around $300 but quality control seems to be inconsistent. Scores a little higher on Rtings MSI MAG 27QR4QRF- QD -...

Are these VGA coolers worth anything?

I haven't forgotten just got busy. Trying to get a box to calculate shipping.

Are these VGA coolers worth anything?

I found these in a box in the back of the closet. Evidently I had delusions of grandeur for my 8800GTS that was replaced years ago. I guess these might be considered "vintage" now that they are over 5 years old.
