[Burning Hot??] 22" DVI, HDCP LCD monitor $299.00 A/R

Ordered the Sceptre. Didn't actually need the coupon to get the discount. Note on the website that this is a limited offer available only until supplies run out. At worst that means it goes up to $350.

    24" Widescreen CRT (FW900) From Ebay arrived,Comments.

I have an opportunity to purchase the Compaq P1610 locally for $150 from a private party (non-refurb). Unfortunatley I do not have time to read this entire thread though I intend to later. Would someone please tell me how long these 8-9 year old monitors can last? Also, would this be a...

[Burning Hot??] 22" DVI, HDCP LCD monitor $299.00 A/R

If you go to the Sceptre website there is a comparison table detailing their claimed advantages versus the Viewsonic and Acer. It seems to be more than just the HDMI input (contrast, etc.).

xbox 360 on LCD computer screen

I've heard mixed reviews concerning picture quality of the transcoder (also consider the vdigi transcoder) versus the VGA cable. Some folks seem to get better color out of the transcoder.

    Vdigi transcoder Xbox 360 owners

I posted a similar question on an xbox forums without an intelligent response so let me ask it again here. Do I lose anything (such as resolution options) by using the vdigi transcoder to convert the 360's component output to a monitor's VGA input? The alternative is the MS VGA cables, but...

Is this LCD a decent choice for gaming?

Also consider that there are new 22 inch gaming models from Viewsonic and Sceptre in the $300 dollar range as well. The latter even has a HDMI input.

Is this LCD a decent choice for gaming?

There is a long thread on this monitor with many reviews, but generally I think the consensus is that it is good. Also, Costco is selling this monitor refurbished. Look online under computers -- $350.

    Another 22 inch LCD (Sceptre)

I'm pretty certain that with LCD monitors -- as with all their TVs -- their return policy is anytime no questions asked. Only with computers do I think they have something different. I've not seen the Sceptre mentioned anywhere else besides their website and on the Costco website.

    Another 22 inch LCD (Sceptre)

I'm with you. Having the option to return it without questions asked -- anytime -- makes me far less hesitant to get one of the budget monitors.

    Another 22 inch LCD (Sceptre)

Just got October coupons for Costco and the Viewsonic will also be $50 off MSRP. So both the Sceptre and the Viewsonic 22inchers will be $300. Ridiculous. May just have to purchase both and let them duel it out.

    Samsung 21in or Sceptre 22in...

If you're considering other options, then I suggest a couple of other possibilities in the same range. I've listed the primary discriminators as I understand them below. 22 inch Sceptre ($300 Costco online, new, nice specs on paper, includes HDMI) 22 inch Viewsonic ($350 Costco online, new)...

    Another 22 inch LCD (Sceptre)

I'm also looking at refurbed HP f2105 (also at Costco online under refurbed computers, $300). Sceptre specs looks best on paper. Is there anything else about these monitors worth knowing? Gonna use this for Xbox, and Xbox 360 in a few months. Monitor would be for just me at around 4 ft...

    Another 22 inch LCD (Sceptre)

It is also rare (at this price point) to offer an HDMI input.

    Another 22 inch LCD (Sceptre)

Sceptre joins Viewsonic and others in this new class. There doesn't seem to be much info about any of these yet -- at least nothing comparative. What do you guys make out of the Sceptre propaganda comparing their offering to the Viewsonic and Acer? Sceptre 22 comparison Will be...
