Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Don't forget if you go with Dual 4850x2's you are going to need a major PSU and you are going to raise the heat in our case since they exhaust into your case.
Not hating on the 4850x2 just something to think about.
I have the P6T and I LOVE IT. However if you aren't going to be overclocking there really isn't any reason to spend the extra money. The MSI is a good board so unless you have a preference to Asus I would save the cash.
I'm sure tons of people will argue over this but if you are not playing...
You only care about the core temps. (Basically) It is normal for the cores to have different temps because they are going to utilized at different loads.
IMO if you are staying under 75c at full load you are fine.
On a side note speedfan does strange things, I had a P5DH Deluxe and at...
I would guess you are going to have a hard time finding anyone that has tried overvolting past 1.66v. Intel has been very adamant that if you pass this threshold you will damage your chipset. (Which may or may not happen) But with the limited benefit to push the limit I'll be surprised if you...
I have the Scythe on my i920 and the temps are great. I lapped the CPU and so far my OC temps have been great. Still doing some testing because every freaking program is a different temp. But worst case at 1.4 volts I hit 81c running core damage so I'd say the Scythe is working very well...
I know this is a dumb question but you do have both the power plugs plugged in to the motherboard right. I'm talking about the extra 12v plug that plugs in
I guess if you are using liquid cooling then you have room. I have the P6T Deluxe and didn't realize they changed the config of the P6T motherboard.
Good luck with it let us know what kind of overclock you get out of it.
It takes a pretty good amount of pressure to lock the chip down.
Here is step by step that might help.

You can also try just booting the system with 1 stick of RAM I doubt this the issue but the fewer parts you have installed the less that can be wrong. Also unplug the SATA and PATA stuff and try to get a boot.
I would even say having the cores at different temps is more normal than having them the same. I've seen several posts where the temp was 5-7 degrees off.
What are the temps you are getting at idle and at load if you are in the normal range then the problem is most likely not the heatsink...
IMO the best choice is the 120mm fan you are getting much much better airflow and only slightly more noise.
Look at Yate Loon fans they are dirt cheap and provide good flow.
That actually sounds pretty normal to me you can run CPU-Z or Core Temp and see what kind of voltage it shows.
I wouldn't be to worried though those numbers seem normal.
That sux man I'm sure you have already tried this but just in case.
How much did you raise your northbridge voltage that was causeing me problems at first. Once I raised it I was able to get alot more FSB speed.
