Many thanks for all your replies.. I think i've narrowed it down to a dodgy stick of RAM. I can now get to the bios with one stick installed..
I'm not sure if the other stick is faulty or if I just need to change bios settings.. Will have a look into it (might have to return).
Big thank...
Tazz thank you for your post. Unfortunatly I've never been able to get into the bios on this box - it powers on with no beeps but nothing comes out of the graphics card..
It sounds like i'm going to have to send all the components back.. Without another rig to test them on I don't know what...
Thank you for your reply - I've tried that - no luck.
Two observations:
1- With 12v ATX connection unplugged and both pci-e connections plugged into graphics card PC turns on (no video) and solid red light on graphics card).
2- With 12v ATX connection plugged in and poth pci-e...
I have a new MB and PSU. Do I need to connect the 24pin ATX power connector and 4-pin ATX 12v connector? (Manual said this supplies power to CPU but i've not come accross this before).
Thanks for that. Tried it all. Still no luck.
I wonder if the issue relates to graphics card.. When i connect two pci-e connectors a red light on it flashes and fan does not spin upto full speed (with one the fan spins straight upto full speed)..
Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but on the 2900 card, if i plug on pci-e power connector in then the fan on the card spins up but if i plug two in (6-pin) then I just get a flashing light on the card.. I'm pretty sure a 500w PSU is enough for this...?
No beeps.
Fan in PSU comes on, fan connected via molex comes on. CPU fan comes on. Graphics card fan starts as soon as power button is pressed (and sounds like case is going to take off!).
Dear HF,
I have just assembled my new box. Trying to boot into bios but nothing is being sent to the monitor. I have the CPU on MB with cooler. RAM in slots and 2900 in its slot with powerlead connected.. Have disconnected all internal cables eg- status led's and reset bios with jumper.
Is...
Yes - 2405WFP. Still under warrenty..
I'm kind of excited now! Although from reading the reviews it doesn't sound like there is much difference between the two (performance wise)...
I know it didn't sound like it - but i have actually built 3-4 rigs before (still not a lot I know).. Although the last one was in 2000 (200w PSU!) so it has been a while.
I think i got this 'silly' idea in my head from misreading a post somewhere.. I was trying to get into the bios so I...
Feww! Thank you for your replies.. I'd tried everything - taking MB out, CPU out, tested wires.. I guess I should have had a little more patience and waited for the memory!
I just bought the Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R (rev. 2.0). Are you saying it doesn't support e6750 chip (1333fsb)? Their website clearly states it does!! Eeek I hope i don't have to but another chip..
Two years after posting on this forum about my 24" it has died.. Still under warrenty.. Do you think they'll send me a new model? Can't imagine they'd still have this in stock!!
