yeh it is 65nm. i just tried 1.51v in bios which actually gave me around 1.44v. I tried it at 3.9ghz as it would only boot stable into windows on thoses voltages, but the temperatures skyrocketed to 80c so i think i'll leave it at 3.8ghz. Thanks anyway.
So i've overclocked a intel core 2 quad qx6800 to 3.8ghz from 2.93ghz. The vcore i have to use is 1.46 on bios but it is actually 1.39 because of the vdroop. My load temps never exceed 60c on all cores, i use a TRUE black 120 lapped. Is it safe to UP the voltage even more provided the...
meh, until i find a cooler that doesn't get overtaken by another in a few 4, 5 months, im gonna wait until we get a champion like the TRUE which was top for almost 2 years? I thought the latest heatsink gimmick was the direct touch heatpipes like with ocz vendetta 2 which was champ a while ago...

just curious: what year do you think Solid State Drives will be cheap enough for the mainstream PC user? For example 100gb for £40 or around $60 US.
Well, the cpu doesn't have warranty in the first place, all thats stopping me from lapping it now is the danger of me somehow breaking the cpu. I thought lapped cpu's make it sell easier because of the increased cooling performance? Logan321! Why is your overclock so cool!? at 3.6ghz my temps...
I've overclocked this to 3.47ghz and the idle temp is 45c. When i run OCCT stress test, core 1 and core 2 goes up to 74c !!! I want to overclock it more as stock clock of QX6800 is only 2.93ghz. I currently use Thermalright Ultima 90, with this generic thermalpaste, 1500rpm, everything...
My GTX260 is working!!! Thanks to my crummy soldering. Its actually is a lot harder than it looks, it took me about 40 minutes, because its just so fidgety. That and my soldering iron was rusty and takes AGES for the solder to melt. I will post pictures within next few days for you guys. Now...
I cant get a replacement because of circumstances, and i am going to resolder the capacitors back on. I want to ask you electronic guys, does it matter which way it is soldered on? i.e. the polarity? Because theres no way to tell. And i don't know which capacitor fell of which bit because they...
