I don't think you have to have the EGS launcher installed to play the game, but it does require an EGS account for multiplayer, from what it sounds like, because it uses EGS servers.

My big issue with them is the planned obsolescence. I've never had a ton of issues actually using their products before, except when they decide to take away features you had previously to drive you towards new hardware.

Yeah I understand the distinction, and it's fair, I just think it's kind of silly to presume that a unit that processes graphics can't be called a GPU because it doesn't process "all" of the graphics? I dunno. It's not a serious issue to me, it's just sort of goofy.

It's admittedly pretty fun to just hop in a random game and shoot some stuff. I have noticed a non-trivial number of idiots/assholes though, which is a shame. But generally it's pretty good.

Honestly, I'd rather have a modern-graphics remake of BF 1942. Bad Company 2 was the last good BF game, IMO. I tried to like BF3 but the unlocks and other BS were too much.
