I highly suggest putty for this, it makes your life so much easier and works better. I used TG putty on my 4090 and it worked amazingly, dropped vram temps 25C. Follow the instruction to apply it though, I had to refrigerate mine for a few hours...

Yeah I sold my 270K, my 265K overclocks to the frickin moon and for gaming I don't need the extra e-cores. I'm using a 5070 currently and its not really fast enough to need an X3D chip at 1440p anyways. I'm hoping this big cache works out well.

I'll give it a try anyways, I ended up really liking Arrow Lake. I sold all my other stuff and kept the original 265K I bought way back when.

Alright, so after about 2 weeks with the new switch and new cables, everything is rock solid, until the new switch degrades enough from the high heat :). Will replace it eventually with a POE switch when I make some runs for outdoor cameras...

I have here one Glorious Model O fancy mouse. It is wireless and very light. I used it maybe twice, didn't fit my hand well so I just put it away. If someone needs a mouse drop me a pm.

These cards have extremely thick PCBs that wick a lot of heat. If you don't have a preheater and hot air you're way more likely to make a mess of it. Just saying.

If you send it out send it to someone who can definitely fix it. You're going to pay thru the nose either way just do it right the first time.

AFAIK those big sockets are epoxied to the board not just soldered and nearly impossible to remove even by the OEMs. Huge die graphics cards are done the same way.
