    External Case Fan Controller question...

Well, most of the fan controllers I've seen are more in the $35+ range and most seem to get rather mixed reviews. Whether they induce buzzing on the fans or simply crap out after a month I have to say that looking at most of the fan controllers didn't really motivate me to buy one. If you have...

    External Case Fan Controller question...

I'm thinking about running an external toggle switch for a few of my case fans. I only need them when gaming for longer periods and otherwise they are really noisy and annoying. My plan was to daisychain them (molex connectors) and then control them with a switch like the following on the...

Is PLP still a bad option?

I last looked seriously into a portrait-landscape-portrait setup maybe a year ago. At the time it seemed bad because it's not supported by AMD or nVidia cards and required some sort of work around for it to work with most games. Is this still the case? Or are P-L-P setups more viable now?

What RAM can I add at this point?

My original 3 sticks test OK and run OK. The new stick runs OK by itself, tests OK. Combined, memtest shows errors and the system is unstable. Resetting the BIOS settings for memory to "auto" has not resolved anything.

What RAM can I add at this point?

Won't incorrect BIOS settings cause memtest to show errors even if the stick is OK?

What RAM can I add at this point?

Well things haven't gone so smoothly. I purchased this RAM I linked and upon placing it in the system it booted but most every program would crash and eventually the system gave me a BSOD. Same thing repeated. Removed the new stick and all was well again. It's possible the RAM is bad, but it...

What RAM can I add at this point?

Thanks. I think I'm just going to add in one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139046

What RAM can I add at this point?

I was wondering the same. The 3 slots on the MB are white and the 4th empty one is blue...I know they are in triple channel now so I'm not sure what the options are to increase it.

What RAM can I add at this point?

I have one system that is using a Gigabyte Mobo GA-EX58-UDR3. It currently has 3 sticks of 2GB RAM (triple channel) and 1 slot open. I'm wondering what my options are for increasing the memory? It looks like the max. module size is 4GB. Can I simply place a 4GB module in the last slot...

    Possible Failed Drive...any options?

Thanks, I have a couple of the WD green drives. They are very decent for the price. I'm considering getting a SATA hot swap setup so I can just be done with external USB drives. I've killed a few of them over the years and honestly I don't do anything but backup a couple of times per month. I...

    Possible Failed Drive...any options?

I couldn't believe how hot the drive was when I pulled it out of the enclosure...I don't know if that's because it was dying or that's normal but it was blazing.

    Possible Failed Drive...any options?

Thanks for the advice. Pulled it out and Seatools says it's dead. Out of warranty. :(

    Possible Failed Drive...any options?

I had an external 1TB hard drive that I used for backups. During the last backup it just sat there for hours. The software never gave any errors and the drive was still spinning (wasn't clicking or anything) but I finally disconnected it from the USB port and powered it down. I tried...

    Need Corsair AX850 Alternative

Except...we have no idea what the real numbers are. So it's all conjecture. I can say that with a brief inspection of some of the top-selling PSUs' reviews you will see coil whine mentioned far more in the Seasonics and Corsairs than most comparably positioned units from other manufacturers...

    Need Corsair AX850 Alternative

We have no idea how many are OK and how many are not so it's really hard to make a comparison. Corsair themselves are saying there is going to be a change to the entire AX series regarding whine: http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114987&page=3 so it's obvious that they see it...
