Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
EnderW, it looks like all your image links are dead. Can you re-upload them somewhere and re-link them? I'd really like to see some good shots of your work with this case.
I'm using "AUTO". I'm not sure what I should be using.
I've been playing around with overclocking it more and the strange thing is that as long as I keep the FSB at 333, I can jack up the multipler quite a bit. I've managed to get it into windows at 11.5 x 333 (3.83GHz) and I'm prime95...
I've been running my Asus P5E-VM HDMI over 6 months with an E7300 2.66GHz (10 x 266) overclocked to 3.4GHz (8.5 x 400). All I did was drop the multiplier to 8 (from 10) and bump the FSB to 400 (from 266). I didn't change voltages or anything, I just left everything on "AUTO". See...
This is my Antec NSK 3480 build. My old PC was a super silent rig using an overclocked Pentium M in a low profile Superflower case. I was very happy with my old setup except that with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion raising the hardware bar, my system wasn't really cutting it, even with...
I'm doing the same thing with my Antec NSK3480 case, except I'm using their other (cheaper) grommets...

I did the pencil vdroop mod and now my voltage actually goes UP ever so slightly when under load. It does seem to be a lot more stable when overclocking now.
Regardless, the voltage settings in the BIOS still don't match what I see in CPU-Z and SpeedFan.
I've discovered...
I got a bunch of new parts and I'm trying some overclocking and stress testing to make sure everything is stable in case I have to RMA something.
Here's what I'm working with..
Asus P5E-VM HDMI (using latest 0604 BIOS)
Core 2 Duo E7300 wolfdale 45nm - 2.66GHz - 10x multiplier - SLAPB...
Why that particular memory? Is the recommendation based purely on price? The reason I ask is that judging from the review on Newegg, it doesn't seem to be a very reliable brand, with many of them being DOA.
It's been several years since I've built a new system and I'm not up on the latest overclocking techniques, methodologies, and pitfalls on the Core 2 platform.
I remember back in the day that it was optimal to run the memory and fsb 1:1 if possible but I don't know if that is recommended or...
I think I'm honing in on some choices here.
First off, as much as I love it's compact size, I think my current SFF case is hurting me and limiting my video card choices. The biggest problems are:
1) the power supply is a SFX 300 Watt model
2) the case is thin and short, limiting both the...
For the video card, price really isn't a concern. My primary constraints are noise, power usage, temperature, and physical size.
I'll look into that motherboard. Thanks for the tip.
