Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Specifications described on any product is useless without understanding what they really mean in terms of the final build.

Artificial neural network.
I'll be mostly coding/testing models based on recent neurobiology finds in human/animal brain. That is why it is absolutely necessary to maximize the RAM and TFLOPS.
(there are around 100 billion neurons in a human brain, each running more than thousands of key...
I didn't buy the board yet, but it will be a server motherboard. (EVGA Classified-SR2)
I'm planning on buying the parts in a month or two.
Total budget of around $10000.
You got a point.
I suppose it is my personality than anything;
I tend to plan earlier and know the market better,
keeping up with the updates until I buy anything.
I've already learned a lot.
My only wish was to increase my general judgment skill in hardwares, which I don't know much about...
Hello, I've been hunting for 16GB single-stick DDR3 ECC DIMM (1066MHz) for a while.
The cheapest I've found was $420~$440 range per stick, but since I'm getting 12 of them (total 192GB, $5000~$5300), the price difference really matters.
Anyone know cheaper sellers than above mentioned?
Thanks for the reply.
Yea, I should've waited but it is the case that I'm going to build it over the summer most likely.
Anyway, EVGA Classified-SR2 forum says I can stack the memory up to 192GB.
16GB single-stick is around $420~$440 these days,
If I went for the full-build,
MOBO: $580 - EVGA...
1) What will you be doing with this PC?

2) What's your budget?
$7500~$10000 (only if there is a good reason to over-extend to $10000)
3) Where do you live?
New York City
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget?

I like that fact that OpenCL is cross-platform with diverse devices supporting (I'm a C++ fan, but given OpenCL's already superior execution, the kind of accessibility (like JAVA) is a plus.)
I think NV is pulling away from professional or for-fun researchers, focusing more on high-end gaming...
Thanks for an extensive response. :D
Wow, I didn't know there was a mobo that could support more RAM.
(Personally, I think RAM will take higher priority in my play research. I'd really prefer 64~128GB+ RAM, but those'd be server mobos with no GPU slots.)
And, you're right, I really don't have...
I believe in your good opinions, residents of [H].
Please help me maximize on this one.

The main purpose of this computer will be computer science research (on top of everyday tasks, of course.) I want to play...
