Hello all. I will be getting a 4k TV soon. It will be the Vizio m70-c3
It has a HDMI 2.0 port with the HDCP (???) 2.2 thing that it needs for copy protection.
Anyway it is a Home Theater PC - - I don't plan to game on it at all, and in the very very very unikly situation I do , I more then...
Okay folks, . last year, I just wasn't able to make it happen, I was close to getting a TV but the lack of HDMI 2.0 and other issue caused me to wait a year.
Well it is a year later I am going to be looking for at least 60 inch, but 65 or 70 better. 4K, running off a HTPC (will need a new hdmi...
Hello HF folks!
Thank you for all the help in the past!
I am looking for some info on using htpc with 4k tv.
We consume most of out video from digital downloads, and streaming though Netflix.
I currently have a 1080i rear projection tv, but it is truly on its last legs. I am debating...
Hello all -
I am in need of a new laptop - other then the standard fair of email - websites. I watch some netflix. I want HDMI out- so I can pipe it to TV, I play the odd game - but not much - a "docking station" might be of use to me. as I am a huge fan of more screen space. I will by...
I spoke too soon, I thought it was working but it really isn't. it is better then before, I will try to update drivers (should only be like a year old MAX) , and the shark pack. I wil report back when I am able.
so I have install teh k-lite mega codec" pack, seems to have helped a ton, even in VLC (I thought vlc used its own set of codec), anyway, seems I am running about 65% with even high res movies, .. the video seems a hair choppy, or stuttery, but it keeps playing, almost like dropped frames.
I am...
hi all,
I have a lap top, an ACER - can't find model number at the moment the CPU is a C2D at 2.00 ghz, the type is a T5750. 3 gig ram (seems like a odd number, but might be effected with video ram or something.....).
running win 7 - 32 bit. windows experience is about 5.2 for all but...
I have spent over 10 hours talking to the "live team" they are total morons, and idiots. they also have very poor english, you have to keep telling them the same things over and over.
I have the same issue, the only think I came accross that has not already been mentioned is that some people...
I built a nas/htpc about a year ago.
I went with I3 it seemed to win out in the battle of heat/power/cost ect. I did use a really cool fan that I found, I think it is called a "noctura" it is very low profile, VERY quite fan, and has heat pipes, so it is a great way to go for quite/cool...
I am sitting on a C2D 2.66 gig right now.. yea, BFBC2 is real slow on it. CPi
U is allways maxed out (that I that is jstu useing 1 of the 3 screens), however! I upgraded to a ati 6970 and glad I did !
I will wait for ivy bridge, and at taht poitn buy a second 6970, dual cards and run with it :)
I have issues with my yamaha reciever where the video gets corrupted somehow. Sometimes the whole picture shifts 20% left, sometimes the whole video goes pink and green. Some really odd stuff.
I get this going form my HTPC to the Yamaha, to the TV. for me, restarting the TV always fixes it...
if you really want it to be a capable gameing machine, I would sugest a core i5,
you can get by with taht ggraphics card, but consider also upgradeing to a ati 5670, far more powerfull. HIS has a quite ICE verions, power color and shapire have no-fan passive units.
I use win7.
It is good in that when it does play, it work well, and the sound output is always what I would deem "correct" (dts/dd). VLC defaults annoyingly to PCM.
My problem with WMC is that a lot of the formats I get don't show up in media center, and I often get some message about...
Okay, windows media center is unstable for me, not only does it not play all the formats, and it is also prone to frezes, and crashes.
i have VLC that I love. (though I have to keep switch the audio output every time it opens a new file). What I would liek is a program that lets me navigate...
