I have a Xaser3 1000a case and the front "Thermaltake" light stopped working. I see the cord plugged into a small square box either an Inverter or Voltage regulator in the case. I stuck a multimeter on one of the leads coming out of this and got 0 Volts DC and 0 AC. I'm assuming this is bad.

I've included a video to show how loose it is. I've triple checked all the screws and standoffs. The center tension adjustment is all the way tight(big silver knob is bottomed out on the bar).
In this video notice i'm only using my thumb and one finger and the whole heatsink moves.
I got a venomous RT. It fits fine, feels kinda loose even with that screw in the middle turned tight. It's loose enough that the heatsink can turn slightly even when completely assembled. I'm getting about 70*C while running Prime95 with a 920@3500 and 1.25v. Does that sound right?
thanks for the reply. I've decided I'm going to return the TRUE and wait and see if you have any success with the Venomous X and If so I'll get one of those instead.
Looks like I'm going to have $2k worth of computer sitting in boxes for the next 2 weeks while I wait for the return.
no, mounting the other way has the same problem. :(
The caps on the right side of the CPU are the same height as the ones across the back.
I was hoping that just taking a few small washers and putting them under the bracket would fix the problem but it looks like doing that would reduce contact...
@Bop
I am putting together a very similar build. How did you get the mounting brackets to clear the Capacitors around the CPU? Did you have to use some kind of spacer or remove the Asus Stack Cool3 metal heat spreader on the back of the Mobo?
I just purchased a new motherboard and cpu from newegg. When I try to install the thermalright ultra 120 1366 edition, the support pieces are touching the capacitors around the CPU. Is there a trick to installing these? Asus does have that relatively large heatspreader on the back of the...
Depending on how much more than $100 I might be interested, I used the mic I had for more than gaming and would like a nice quality one. I used the one I had for 4 years and it also survived 2 moves so spending a little extra for something nice is an option.

Thanks for the replies,
I don't want a USB mic as those have notoriously bad quality. I'd prefer a standard mic. I'll check on that one from newegg but right now it appears the site is down. Anyone else have any options?
I've been trying to find a good quality headset mic for my PC. Due to my setup a desktop Mic is impossible and with my custom 8.2 Surround sound speakers I don't want speakers on the headset. Do these even exist anymore? I used to have a labtec LVA-7331 but due to the wife stepping on it and the...
Mathmatically how is this possible? there are 1280 pixel wide and 1024 pixels down, if the pixels are the same number but the distance is in a different ratio how could the image not be slightly stretched vertically? i'd be interested to see a side by side picture orf a 19" LCD 5:$ and a 19" CRT...
