I'm probably going to replace my 1440p setup with a single card this go round. I'm going to wait and see what the 390x/980Ti offer before doing a refresh of my 680s/7970s. $2000 is my GPU spending limit for the two systems.
A 750Ti's performance is in the vacinity of a GTX 480.

IMO, a 760 will be the minimum you need to see significant gains. I would just try and save up for a 970 or wait and see what the 960 has to offer.
Eyefinity was the feature in recent memory that made me to that. I went from a single GTX 280 to Xfire 5870's. Along with monitor costs, the price of entry was pretty steep at the time. No regrets, as I still enjoy multi-monitor gaming to this day.
I use to buy just about every generation, but have held onto my 680/7970 setup for close to three years now. They handled the games I play fine (Skyrim, BF3/4, CS:GO, the Batman series, etc.) and I saw no need to pickup the Hawaii/780i/Maxwell series. With games like DA:I and the upcoming...
I've been holding out for "Big Maxwell"/390x, but I may have to upgrade one of my systems sooner. I'll have to wait and see what my performance at 1440p will be (minus AA) in a few hours. Xmas may be coming early.
AC IV used the Anvil Engine. Watchdogs uses the new Disrupt Engine which appears to be a combination of Anvil and Far Cry 3's Dunia. AC IV was capped, but FC 3 was not. If WD were to use the Anvil Engine, I would be inclined to a FPS cap. For no other reason than using a different engine do I...
Then again, the consoles are capped at 30fps 792/900p. I personally don't care if a still picture looks the same across the platforms. Gameplay at >60FPS and uncapped resolution is what will make the PC version superior.
Good review, but I don't see any of the e-tailers selling this for MSRP in the current climate. By the time it even approaches MSRP, I suspect we may be close to Maxwell.
