well I've been using this monitor since it came out with no serious complaints, 4k @ 60hz in Windows and Mac OS X. However I just downgraded my video card from 1080ti to 1050ti (the 1080ti is being moved to a mining rig in garage to reduce heat inside house)
anyway 1050ti should be more than...
fwiw I have had zero issues with the 43UD79 blinking off to black screen or doing anything abnormal at all. Really the only cons I have on this monitor, in order of importance, are the edge shadows, only having 1 displayport input, the BGR pixel layout and the cheap-feeling remote.
just set mine up. It was a relief to have 4k 60hz work first time out of the box on my hackintosh with GTX 970 displayport, after the struggles I had getting HDMI to work at 60hz 4k using a TV on Mac OS. First impressions, it seems like a decent upgrade over the Samsung 40" 4k TV I was...
found this useful thread full of people trying to get a working thunderbolt 3 on the GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 board, which its apparently supposed to have:
https://hardforum.com/threads/skylake-based-z170-gaming-mini-itx-motherboard.1864902/page-23
presumably if it would work as thunderbolt 3 I could...
I want to build an HTPC in a tiny case:
(Streacom F1C-WS)
There is no easy way to put a GPU in here, even a mini style card, without modding it and overcrowding/overheating the CPU. I want a silent machine for this job, and one that doesn't get hot.
I've got a mini ITX board (Gigabyte -...
yeah some casual gaming will be done, I'll update the existing thread for the LG 43UD79-B once I get it and try it out
*update, I am no hardcore fps gamer who needs 200hz refresh rate and all that jazz. I've played some games on the LG 43UD79-B and it has been great for me
I had one 'backordered' through Amazon for $697 for a week or so (wasn't going to ship for like 2-3 weeks)... cancelled and re-ordered through Adorama via amazon. Bonus : $50 cheaper, and no tax this time! and still get my 5% amazon cash back.
cons: still says its going to take up to 3+...
finally got this thing working at 60hz on a hackintosh with GTX 970 with a club 3d active DP->HDMI2 adapter. same configuration was only working 30hz then suddenly the 60hz option showed up randomly in display properties.
too bad I had just ordered a LG 43UD79-B the night before because I was...
not sure how to switch to 4:2:2, but nothing I've tried so far as worked. And yeah it does seem like a problem with Mac OS since Windows works fine, but unfortunately for work I don't have a choice. 95% of the usage of this thing will be in Mac OS, I rarely am able to boot into Windows to...
well I'm just about ready to give up and return this 40" MU6300
it works great in Windows 10 at 4k 60hz but I just can't get it to work at 60hz on Mac OS - 2014 rMBP only does 30hz and my hackintosh with a GTX 970 only does 30hz in Mac OS (60hz in windows)
the vast majority of my usage of...
would you be able to push 4k @ 120hz from a PC? I'm having a hell of a time getting Mac OS to do anything but 4k @ 30hz. Windows is able to do 60hz with my video card but what kind of GPU and connections would it take for 120hz
fwiw I have the MU6300 40" and it works pretty well as a monitor...
The one I'm using supposedly worked for some folks : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S0BWR2K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but it could be the adapter that is tripping me up. I guess I will try that one you linked, or I've also heard success with the club3d branded one...
well crap...
I can't get this TV to work at 4k 60hz on my Macbook Pro (retina 15", mid-2014). It works at 30hz, but using an Amazon HDMI 2.0 cable, the 'pluggable' branded midiDP->HDMI 2.0 adapter it still only works at 30hz.
I installed SwitchResX which lets me force it to 60hz... the TV...
so with this being BGR instead of RGB, any Mac users out there using this TV flipped upside down? I've got a wall mount on order and I might try it to see if the text looks better. I've got the UN40MU6300 which I guess its the 2017 revision of the UN40KU6300
I'm also waiting on a mini-DP...
