Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Yeah the auto setting does increase it gradually but crashes occur faster and more often.
If I set it to 70% manually, most games i didnt mention work fine.
Although i think this is a separate issue maybe.
The OCCT gpu test caused the exact crash roughly 6 mins in at 90 degrees temp.
Intel burn test ran fine, so yeah you see why I assume it is the video card.
I also noticed just before the crash/hang, some sort of tearing/ripping began.
So this is still happening.
On the new test drive unlimited 2 too, within the first 10 mins (this time windowed-mode because it defaulted to that retardedly).
Having the fan at 70% has the same issue, ill try 100.
The card isn't dusty at all, I recently cleaned the system.
I assumed driver bug but i've had it in every driver ever installed on here, so it seems unlikely, and nobody else seems to have the exact same problem.
EDIT:
Playing GTA4 for 30...
No, like I said, there's nothing of relevance in the event logs.
If it was that common error, it wouldn't have locked up would it (see 'successfully recovered').
This is a complete grey-screen lock up with sound looping, it does not make an entry in the event viewer.
Hey,
So I've been having this problem for a long, long time now and figured i'd post for advice.
Problem:
Basically, some games will cause a complete lockup after some time of playing.
By some games, I mean specifically GTA4 and borderlands DLC (only DLC, dont think its happened on the regular...
Hey,
As some of you know, I recently built a new i7-based system with the following specs:
- i7 920 (not overclocked for now)
- 6GB DDR3 1600mhz
- 850w enermax PSU
- EVGA classified mobo
- Lian Li case
- GTX 285 (FTW edition i think, by evga)
The first problem im having is...
I fixed it by using 70% fan speed in games.
Then when im out of games, switch it back to auto.
Works perfectly.
Although, strangely, my mobo fried its self just after solving this problem rofl. So now im on an i7 system i just built.
This case is amazingly nice but I'm unsure as to how good the cooling will be.
I'm split between a haf932 (100 pounds cheaper almost) and this. Like I said in my other thread relating to this, the cool air is all from the bottom so I'm worried that it won't be great. For example, it'll pick up...
Yeah I think my choice is between the 932 and the corsair.
My only worry about the corsair is that it has no front fan, all cool air comes from the bottom of the case. So I don't know if that's the best way to go about cooling the system. You'd think it'd cause more dust and warm air to be...
Hey,
I seem to be posting a lot of these "question" threads so ill try make this my last.
I need to choose a case for my next setup but there are so many to choose from im unsure which to get.
You can say I have no price limit so this includes the expensive good-looking cases.
Here are the...
Well coincidentally and unfortunately, my current PC just decided to die on me lol.
I suspect the psu, it won't power up at all. Which means I have to spend even more money for a second PSU to keep this system working as well as building my i7 system.
Well I can either get the 3x SLI (system would cost £900) or the classified (system would cost £1000).
My only doubt is that the heatsink on the 3x SLI (and maybe the classified)'s voltage regulator or whatever it's called will make it hard to install a TRUE heatsink.
Especially if I want...
Well it fixed it enough to play HL2 EP2 for 2 hours. Usually it'd crash after about 30 minutes.
I'm not going to accept the solution yet though, going to keep an eye on it for a few days and see if the problem re-occurs.
Also note that the temp dropped 10 degrees after changing the fan...
