Hey,
As some of you know, I recently built a new i7-based system with the following specs:
- i7 920 (not overclocked for now)
- 6GB DDR3 1600mhz
- 850w enermax PSU
- EVGA classified mobo
- Lian Li case
- GTX 285 (FTW edition i think, by evga)
The first problem im having is occasionally, the system wont boot and will post the video error code (1 long beep, 2 short). If I then wobble the GPU, the problem disappears. So obviously I suspected the card wasn't in correctly, but after checking, it was.
Also, I don't know if this is related or not, but sometimes my boot up screen(s) are laggy (e.g. GRUB (linux boot)). So like the screen will roll down instead of appearing instantly.
Lastly, when playing fallout 3 on high, the game is quite laggy. If I make an explosion, it'll freeze for a second and then show the finished explosion. I find this strange because im running on a very good system with a very good GPU. (Lowering anti-aliasing and such fixes this)
Anyway, if anyone has any clues as to what these problems could be caused by, please do post.
EDIT:
im also now getting random BSOD's constantly, only starting today.
I really dont know what to do.
All my components are new except my HDDs and my GPU. My GPU is still pretty new (this year).
The amount of problems i've had with this system is frustrating, i really am out of ideas and nobody i ask knows what to do. Of the 100s of people i know and the many forums i know, none have a clue as to what i should even try do.
How can a brand new system have so many problems?
