Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Sorry for the late response on this.. I'm just going to spring for a 260 or 4870 in the meantime.. I def think it's my vid card that's the bottleneck and I can wait the extra 20 seconds for audio rendering at the moment...
Thanks again all!! Best HW forum on earth right here..!

I'm not totally unhappy I'd say, but it'll stutter during L4D and on Fallout 3 when there's alot going on.. It just kinda sucks because I'll end up missing some action (aka getting killed because of the stuttering) ..I've heard that the GPU means alot more in current games than raw processing...
Looking to upgrade my system and I'm just looking for some feedback on if this change would make a noticable difference :
Current System :
C2D e6400 o/c'd to 2.7ghz
8GB OCZ Fatal1ty DDR2 800 running at 900
PNY 8800GT stock
Asus P5N32SLI MB
Potential Upgrade :
Phenom 9950 (or 9850)...
Ok.. I didn't want to post this in the Intel or AMD specific forums due to the fact that I'm comparing the two.. anyways,
I'm wondering if I should "switch" my systems. Right now I game on an X2 3800+ system w/an 8800GTS.. and I was considering if I should upgrade the processor to the new...
If he looks on the back of the PC (or sometimes on the top or sides of the case), it'll have an express service tag #.. He can write that down, then go to Dell's support section of their website, and enter the #.. it'll give him all the details there.
SM 2.0 : 4366
SM 3.0 : 4445
~ Russian : I'll make sure to do that.. Your company is easily the best around as far as performance and customer support.. thanks!
~ Advil : You're speakin' nothing but the truth.. I love this card!
Hey guys, just a quick update and another quick question...
So I got the 8800GTS SC, and I'm loving it.. Thanks so much for the advice on the purchase.. easily worth it at the 263 I paid for it..
I've been tinkering w/overclocking since i'm getting an X2 BE 5000+ soon, so for a reference...
Yep, it's eVGA.. The ram was one of my concerns.. dealing w/512 now, and then stepping down to 320.. I wondered if I'd take a performance hit due to the GPU speed increase not being that much over the 2 7900's. Cool though, I'm gonna go for it..
..it's 263 at Microcenter, and right now I'm dealing with 2 7900gs KO's in SLI (I play most games at 1680x1050...)
Is the upgrade worth it, keeping in mind the new cards coming out soon?? I'm thinking the step up program may come in handy...
cpu is an X2 3800+ / 2gigs 6400
Thanks...
Haven't checked the FPS in any other games.. I'm running TF2 at 1680x1050.. I just dl'ed the UT3 demo, so I'll see if I can get the FPS to show there or something.
I'm thinking it may be my CPU bottlenecking, because I did a 10% oc to 2.1ghz, and got 5 or 6 more frames on average, so then...
