    With a quadro cards I don't think there's a nvidia artificial limitation. GTX/RTX cards you have to use patch. I'm new Plex just getting ready to build a server.

    I think that's actually about spot on. Definitely won't be needing PCIe 4.0 storage support as I think 90% of users don't even need it. As for the CPU I was actually thinking 3900 might be too much CPU and if by chance I did upgrade it for whatever reason would be maybe to a second-hand 3950...

    Well that's why I'm asking on the forum, from my understanding the x470 has better VRMs but mda makes a good point in his post then again with a 3900X I don't think I'll be upgrading this Unraid server running Windows VM anytime soon maybe just drives I don't know I'm really torn between the two.
