This is awesome. I just built a new home and am in the process of designing my new garage layout. I may have to copy you a bit and just change the monitor setup slight. Maybe a single widescreen 29" or something.
Thanks for the idea!
I've recenlty been looking at the 27" version. Best price I've been able to come across so far is $555.30 here: http://www.nothingbutsavings.com/Product/325840
Anyone seen it lower than that?
Do I game on my dual 27s? Not really any more. Used to more a few months back but even then it was minimal; probably less than 8 hours per month.
My setup is work oriented first and foremost since I work from home. Lots of Excel spreadsheets open, Outlook, Thunderbird, Word docs, and browser...
Love those monitors. Still highly tempted by that one and the LG. While I love the clean lines and simplicity of a single monitor, I'm not sure I could give up my dual 27's. I'll have to try and check one out in person to see if it would work for me or not.
In a similar boat. I've been debating getting the proper security torque driver for my Lacie Rugged Mini external drive, ripping out the spinning HDD, and popping in my spare 256GB 840 EVO. Only thing that has stopped me is my resistance to waste money buying the necessary torque driver...
Whatever you decide, I'd at least recommend upgrading the SSD. 128GB isn't much these days and you'll quickly find yourself relying on NAS / DAS for additional space.
Just my $.02
bman - thanks for the input. I may be going AC as well as I'm currently using an UAP-Pro in my condo. Thinking a UAP-AC mounted on the ceiling on the 2nd floor of the new house may be a good start. I can add APs as necessary from there.
One AP on top most floor? Currently building and trying to determine how many APs I'm going to need in the home (I know there's no simple answer). Not sure if I'd get best coverage from mounting on 2nd floor or main floor.
I was straddling the same fence recently and after all the reports I was reading I went with a Pro as well. Can always add an AC down the road when they're getting better feedback.
