i built my computer during september, and it has an 8800gtx, e4300, nforce 650i mobo, 2 gbs ddr2 800, pc 6400 ram, and a 160 gb western digital cavalier hdd.
now, everything was working pretty well up until yesterday, when i noticed that the computer started to run everything incredibly slow...
overclocked my e4300 to around 3.1 ghz and in combination with the 8800gtx, its only scoring around a 43,000 on 3dmark2001-SE.

those are my configurations and what not, any ideas on how to improve my pc's performance?
ok, i have xp 32 bit, and i cannot find a good pair of drivers for my gtx, none of them seem to work, my scores on 3dbenchmark2001 are around 30000, a bit too low.
by the way, my e4300 isnt overclocked AT ALL, this could be holding it back, but i was thinking drivers may have been an issue...
I have a pair of HD595's (99% sure thats the right model number)
my budget is $1330 with shipping.
I will be using this system for work and games, preferrably both at the same time ;)
gtx @ $470 is a steal IMO.
What is with 22"'s, is it some magic number for the 8800 or something?
also, is...
I have also been looking at these forums and have been talking to a lot of experts. From what i have heard, especially from the more fanatic pc goers, you should either buy the q6600 or just overclock the e4300.. if youre willing to overclock that is...

Here is what I have changed so far:
went with an xclio goodpower 500w power supply instead of the xfinity.
saved some additional money on input devices etc. and will possibly upgrade to an e6600, however I am not sure if this upgrade...
hmm you guys do have a point with the motherboard, any more specific suggestions for that price range?
I found this, but not really sure if it works. I can't find a lot of boards in +/- 10 $100 range.
i have hd555's
I wanted to go with the sli mobo so that I could buy a second 8800 in the future and upgrade.
Also, I think 160 gb should be plenty for me. (I was even considering getting an 80mb one for $35)
