Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks for looking.
I'm going to upgrade the system in the signature below. Main use is Lightroom, Photoshop, light Video Editing. Rarely game so that's not a consideration. I find that im using 15gb of ram (according to task manager) during ligthroom and photoshop sessions. Its not...
Im in the process of refreshing the system in my sig below. I just purchased the NEC refurb color accurate 27" 2560x1440 lcd. Also i have ordered a crucial mx200 500gb drive for my os/scratch drive. Im wondering what the best video card upgrade would be for me without having to replace my psu...
Uefi bios already had USB legacy support active.
Avast was doing a boot time scan. It says this is done with direct disk access. Would that be before the uefi bios launches? Is there another way to boot scan? I did a malwarebytes scan and it didn't find what avast has found doing the boot...
I tried my nieghbors USB wired keyboard and it wouldnt work either.
I already have malware bytes but avast caught this one.
I'll try the uefi suggestion and see if that helps. I guess I'll have to reboot try again.
Actually the keyboard I am trying is a m$ wireless keyboard that has a USB and ps2 cable on the transceiver. I guess I need to find a wired USB kb. Maybe I ask my neighbor tomorrow.
If you have other ideas I'm all ears.
The computer in my sig has some kind of malware. Avast recommended shutting down and doing a scan from bios. I did that and it found a virus. But now the screen is asking me to press one to delete it, etc.
Problem is that I have a wireless USB mouse keyboard. It doesn't seem to be working...
I recently upgraded my nearly 4 year old C2D to the machine in my sig below. I reused the antec solo, but would like usb 3 in the front case I/O panel. It has 2 usb2 a firewire and 2 audio ports.
Does anyone make a replacement hub that would fit that would ideally give me usb3, eSATA, and...
forgot to update this for archive purposes.
evga replaced the 2nd 8800gts320 with a 3rd 8800gts320. No upgrade for me. Its in and seems to be running fine. we will see how long it lasts.
I ordered the vista x64 disk from MS for ~$10. I guess ill go with that as I dont currently have any issues w/vista. Im not even sure what 7 offers that I am missing. If I run into issues ill upgrade when I get a ssd in the summer.
Thanks for the advise.
I really dont have a hole as its in an unfinished (studs exposed - no sheetrock) closet. Im leaning to getting a rackmount and somehow screwing it to the plywood. then i can also mount my router, switch and voip hub vertically to the plywood. if i ever need the rack the patch panel will fit...
i did find a leviton panel but its $160. That seems outrageous compared to the one linked in the op above and the monoprice.com panel i have looked at.

I may get 2 of these and screw them into the box vertically. Or i may just remove the box and...
Im looking to tidy up my structured wiring box and complete the terminations on my network cables. I have several structured wiring boxes (between studs) in my equipment closet. I need a 24 port patch panel to to the punchdowns on cat6 and 5e cable. Ideally it would mount into the structured...
Danny - can you explain or provide a link that tells why the 1600 ram isnt necessary. i thought SB was designed for it. Are the 1333 ripjaws you have previously recommended the same as what you recommended in this thread except for the heatsink? The 1333 ripjaws are down to $85 shipped at the...
