I have a system that I'm going to turn into a HTPC system. Currently it has a MX400 video card, that has a DVI port, a VGA port and a S-Video out. I don't think this card is going to work out for me because I've heard about a lot of issue with the S-Video out. So I'm looking for a replacement...
I plan on creating a server with a 2tb drive of data that will mostly be (95%) unchanged, HTPC server. I plan on have a mirrored drive setup for the first half of my data integrity, and want to backup to something else for the second half. 2 Drives. for 2tb of space.

Don't have the original OS disks, if the machine even came with them. Need to either use the OS stuff off the drive (which like I said I can get, but it's a long task) or install a virgin OS and use the manufacturer drivers.
Boot from a livecd??? Don't need to SATA is my secondary drive...
Not really worried about getting the info off the drive, I can file copy a little at a time. I pulled 20 gb of music and photos off for someone. I need to get the system directories reliably onto the compaq's hard drive and save the info from the compaq. But I have frozen a drive defore.
