Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Just as a follow up, I got the Noctua 50mm fan (NF-A4x10 FLX 3-pin fan) and used some long twist ties to attach it to the heat sink (after removing the original JAMO fan). I also used the low-noise adapter to keep it quieter, betting that there would be enough air flow to keep it cool enough...
Yeah, that fan you linked has a CFM of 8.4 while the Noctua 40mm only is 5. From similar fans on Jaro website (original fan manufacturer but not exact model match), it seems like fans of similar power and size are 7-8. I guess I probably need to rethink using the Noctua. Is there a way to...
I know this thread was from 2.5 years ago, but am facing this problem today and was wondering if you ever found an elegant fan replacement solution... I am considering to replace this with a Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX 3-pin fan.
Just as an update, I pretty much completed my first HTPC build based on the Foxconn RM1-H2 barebones machine. Here are the components:

Hi,
I managed to get Windows Media Center up and running on my desktop (Dell XPS 8500) running Win 7 Ultimate and the Ceton 4 tuner PCIe card with Cablevision with an XBOX 360 as an extender. Now that everything is working and the wife approves, my next step is to move the components into...
Thanks for that suggestion. I thought that might be it. But based on the smartinfo available in Napp-It, they all have the same firmware: CC4C. I also found out that the green light is the activity light and should be off. When I run the smartinfo on the drives, they all start to blink...
Thanks for the suggestion...
The LEDs are in the backplane though, right? I tried switching the drive to several different bays and even bays that light both blue and green LEDs on other drives only light blue for this one drive. I also tried switching drive sleds (which pass the light...
I am in the process of building an OI/Napp-It All-in-one server and have a hard drive that is behaving differently from the other 5 drives.
My build includes:
Norco 4224
SuperMicro X9SCM-F-O
Xeon E3-1230 v2
2x8 gigs Kingston Unbuffered Ram
IBM M1015 HBA
6x 2TB Seagate (STBD2000101)...
Does this change anyone's opinion / decision on using OI / Napp-it for a home built, virtualized NAS? I wanted to go with FreeNAS 8 but ran into limitations within an ESXi All-in-one. I was just about to go ahead with OI / Napp-it but now am not sure what to expect is the better long run approach.
I've read in a couple forum posts via google that ZFS does multi-thread well and takes advantage of multiple cores which is why I thought it would be helpful. I went ahead and installed OI with Napp-IT and I have to say that so far I prefer FreeNas' interface much more. But I'll have to spend...
So I followed the directions in building my ESX5i all-in-one FreeNAS 8 (using a Supermicro X9SCM and an IBM M1015 flashed to IT) and got the same interrupt storm errors when I tried to have more than 1 cpu / core.
If I want to be able to use more than 1 CPU, do I need to look at OI /...
I took the risk of getting an x9scm board and an IB chip and it wouldn't boot. I checked via IPMI and of course I got shipped a 1.x bios board. I just ordered it a week or two ago from Newegg so I thought I'd be ok since others reported getting v2 boards.
Any suggestions on how to proceed...
