    Yes, it used to be called a repair install. Now you have to select the upgrade option, if you have old install media without Service Packs you'll have to slipstream the SPs. At least now you have some searchwords to use! :)

    Ohh yes there are different ways to root it, many different ROMs, various ways of sideloading apps, etc. And if you do the lag fix it gets unbelievably responsive.
