Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thank you, that looks really helpful - I'm grabbing them now.
Looking through other people's posts as they contemplate the same models, I found a couple of real concerns about the Envy:
1. Non-removeable battery. Sure, I could take apart the unit, but I have an instant dislike of a laptop...
I do a lot of heavy graphics work (photoshop, indesign, CAD, etc...). I don't do too much in the way of games, but I want a machine that can keep up. I also use the machine a good bit for playing media (AV). All of this means a dedicated graphics card, typically, as well as a really good...
I'm in the market for a laptop, and I'm looking at the HP Pavilion dv7-7012nr.
I don't like that the HDD light isn't viewable normally (it's on the side), nor do I like that there is no NumLock light.
But the KB layout is decent (I can't stand Dell's), and it's got a Synaptics touchpad (a must...
Thanks for the confirmation. It's a PNY, actually. I *think* it had a lifetime warranty.
I take it the GTS 250 and GTX 260 are the closest current matches?
I've got a video issue that I need help with. For reference, I have an nVidia 8800 GTX connected to an NEC LCD2690WUXi on a Win 7 x64 machine.
At some point earlier this year, I started to get what look like flocks of birds in different parts of my screen. When they first appeared, on a dark...
One of the best pixel exercisers used to be JScreenFix, but they started to charge for even their basic app.
Are there any good free ones available, either via a website, or via a downloadable app? Preferably something that can do fullscreen.
If there are no longer any good free ones...
Well, the current problem is following the source - and that has me thinking that it's not the monitor. Although I'm not 100% sure, I just called NEC, and they don't think it's the monitor either. They said they've never had a problem follow the source and not be something other than the...
I need some help with a video problem...
I've got an nVidia 8800 GTX connected to an NEC LCD2690WUXi. A few weeks ago, I started seeing a vertical blue line appear a couple of inches from the left edge of the screen when the monitor was first turned on during the day. It didn't happen every...
When this build was first put together, Windows 7 wasn't available yet, so it got XP. It wasn't worth the headache to set up AHCI at that time, so it got IDE.
I'll be overhauling it soon, and when I do, I'll be enabling AHCI. :)
It was previously in an external enclosure, and worked fine. Even now, it's fully accessible in Windows and seems to work fine. I'm just a little uneasy because of the summary screen info.
