This turned out to be a problem with the motherboard. I picked up a p67a-GD55 that was on sale at Fry's this afternoon and after moving everything over it booted right up with out any issues.

You should order this one instead. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127301 It will fit in the slimline (but the heatsink will cover the other PCI slot) Also you will need to order the low profile bracket from MSI for $6

You would be better off checking out UBID first and seeing what you can find there. There is a s3400z there right now that will end up selling for around $200. http://www.ubid.com/HP_Pavilion_s3400z_AMD_Athlon_64_X2_5200%2b_2.7GHz_2GB_250GB/a11271478.html

Either one should be fine for that. I'm using the MSI 8500gt for 720p on a 42" DLP and have not had any problems. But from what I have read, overscan problem are easier to handle with the ATI cards.

I am using the MSI 8500gt in my s3300z. I have not had any problems with it. But I do have a 45w BE-2300 (and 4gb of ram) in it and don't have the HD/BD drive.

Have a look at this thread. The process works, and following it I was able to do a clean Vista install on my s3300z. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=120228

As an update. I've gotten the HDMI audio to work now. I had forgotten to change the bios setting from auto to onboard for the audio. Now for my next question. What way works best to get rid of overscan problems? Setting a custom resolution? OR re-sizing the HDTV desktop? I'm...

Right now I've got the same problem with my 3300z. I've got the MSI 8500gt (w/hdmi) and I can't get it to enable audio over HDMI, it will only show the digital coax out. The realtek page for drivers isn't very helpfull trying to find out what the latest driver is, but so far all the different...

Yes, they make it for their MSI NX8500GT-MTD256EH GeForce 8500GT card. But it is a low profile bracket for HDMI and DVI, so it should work with any other card that needs it.

You can order one from MSI support 626-581-3001 from 8:30 AM till 5:30 Pm PST. Took about 4 days to get it. It was around $6-$8 shipped.
